I'm just mark it up to an unknown, part of what makes me question whether those were Honor Guards or not was, if Regret had left by the time Forge and the Spartans got there, why would the Honor Guards still be there? usually they stick pretty close to the Prophet.
Maybe the designers thought neither side had shields at first :P That's unlikely though.
I agree with that last bit, though I don't think training between Elites or Spartans would be all that different in intensity, but training would certainly play a part in who would win a fight, though it wouldn't necessarily be the determining factor.
Yeah...why were the Elites still there? I guess Arbiter was given command of them or something and told to stay behind. I guess the surmised with Anders escaping, the Humans would try to come back to screw up their plans.
But yeah...I guess Arbitron got a little cocky with Forge, and Regret was given the B-Team of Honor Guards.
I dunno if the concept of Minor and Major Honor Guards exists...but if it does...than I am gonna go out on a limb and say Major Honor Guards (the ones from Halo 2) would have posed much more of a threat.
I doubt Honor Guard Minors, but well, I am just guided by their armor colors. Perhaps they stayed to stop anybody from touching the activation index for the Forerunner fleet, I mean if Humans can activate their systems they might as well be able to deactivate them.
