Lol, DusK, you're missing the point of what I'm saying. I'm saying the average encounter is slower.
Ah, I see. So the slowdown that bad players experience by constantly missing their shots makes it a slower-paced game, despite the fact that the pistol takes less than a second to kill someone when used by a competent player, the movement speed is faster, the jumps aren't as floaty...What I'm saying is that the average player can't get a 3 shot kill so the average experience doesn't call for 1 second kills. Also, the movement speed isn't as fast as Halo 2/3 I don't believe. I might be wrong about that.
Anyways, to wrap up what I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't judge the average of a game by the best players. You should judge it by the average players.
I guess you do have a point there. Whenever I play, I usually play with those of extremely high skill, which makes for a game experience almost as fast-paced as UT. Thing is, though, even the best H2/3/Reach match with players of that caliber couldn't offer that kind of fast-paced gameplay. So I guess it would be accurate to say that although the average pacing of HPC is slower when you factor in the entire player base, putting a bunch of highly-skilled players together creates a gameplay environment more fast-paced than anything you could get in H2/H3/Reach, even with the best players of those games.
And the movement speed is slower in H2. I'll see if I can find the video.
