There once was an ugly barnacle. He was so ugly that everyone died.

The end.

Did you like Master Chief's or The Arbiter's story better in the Halo 2 Campaign and why?

I just play for fun. MLG can kiss my ass.

Chief's, because the Arbiter was a religious zealot.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

That's a hard one. Master Chief rampaging throughout High Charity was amazing, and so was the ODST hotdrop unto Delta Halo. Watching High Charity transform to Flood hive right infront of your eyes was something I doubt we will see again.

While on the Arbiter's side, being able to fight with Elites (I find the Halo 2 Elites to be the best, most dangerous and best looking in the whole series) and then fight the Brutes for their betrayal walkling among dozens of dead Elites and later to have Hunters help you... Something like that is hard to beat.

I cant really decide which one was better.

you are a good translator
Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

Arbiter's was deeper.

Master Chief's ran off of pure badassery and Mountain Dew.

Best. Ship. Ever!

I'd go with the Arbiter. I was always more interested in what was going on with the Arbiter than what was happening with the Chief. We got to see the inner politics surrounding the covenant and some of the history behind it, such as what Arbiters are.

With the Chief we were doing the same old dance for the most part. A good dance, but one we've done before.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

Arbiter

Obviously.

Hanger one I just shredded with the SMGs until ammo was out and I just threw 'nades like a boss while BRing.

My experience playing Cairo Station on Legendary

They're equal. Chief gave you that unstoppable, cunning side. The Arbiter gave you the emotional, understanding side. I loved the decision to split the story. I can express how I enjoyed the decision tho connect the two at the very end!

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

Master Chief's story for sure. I really did not enjoy The Arbiter's story at all.

What a waste....

Arby.

(Remembers playing Halo 2 campaign for the first time)

Master Chief's story, definitely.

The Arbiter's story was a different point of view, which was good. You got to see why the covenant did things etc.
But I'm still going to pick the Master Chief..No offense Arbiter.

"Were it so easy..." -Thel Vadame.

Uhg, both were awesome. I loved seeing this time of the war from the Arbiters side. But I HATE all the flood missions with the Arbiter. Master Chiefs missions were adventurous and crazy, while the Arbiter had more dark and mysterious parts.

Enjoyed them both.

Signatures are for squares.

Chief's story had:
-"Return to Sender"
-Invasion of Earth
-ODST drop
-Delta Halo badassary
-Assassinating Regret
-Rampaging High Charity

Arbiter had:
-Flood
-More flood
-Half Jaw
-Betrayal
-Tartarus bossfight

...I prefer the Chief.

I enjoyed the Arbiter's story. I was disappointed with Bungie's decision to reduce him to the Chief's sidekick in Halo 3.

  • 03.22.2011 7:40 PM PDT

Both.

But in the end I have to hand it to Arbiter, because his introduction opened the big window and showed the Covenant side of the War. His levels might not be as cool as the Chief's, his story was far more important to the progress of the Trilogy at that point, and more interesting too.

I just wish Bungie would have given Arby and Chief two different campaigns for Halo 3. With Chief defending Earth, and Arby dealing with the Covenant Civil War and finally joining those two stories when they assault the Ark.

Letting Arby out of H3 ment massive loss of depth and epicness in Halo 3, and showed how plain a Chief story on his own is...with respect to Chief ;)

Chief was badass, but really, the Arbiter had a more interesting story. I guess it's hard to choose.

Hard choice but I have to stick with the Chief on this one.

If both had individual campaigns since CE ,Arbiter would surely win.

I mean ,the Chief's story was understanding ,preventing and ironically ,activating Halo.

Arby's story ,however ,delves into the Covenant side of the story ,lies about the Great Journey ,internal rebellion and the eventual defection of the Sangheili upon Betrayal.

Sadly ,only 1 campaign on the Covenant side of the story stops Arby from claiming this price.

First couple of Arbiter's levels where you're fighting the flood are sooo boring, it gets better when the brutes become the enemies, but Chief's is so much more varied.

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

Arbiter's because of the depth and fewer vehicle sequences.
