"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

The Fall of Reach
The Flood
First Strike
Ghosts of Onyx
Contact Harvest
The Cole Protocol
Cryptum

I'd recommend reading them as they came out with the exception of Contact Harvest and Cole Protocol. Cryptum can come in first when it comes to reading too. This is the order I've done

The Fall of Reach
The Flood
First Strike
Ghosts of Onyx
Cryptum (to be read)

I'd just read them in the order they were published, Eric Nylund gives a good intro to the Halo novel series and shoulders about half of the load of total novels so far.
Reading contact harvest after reading the others makes things seem a little more cool after knowing more detail about the covenant that only reading a book can do.

Oddly enough, I found myself unable to read Contact Harvest. I mean, I got it and began reading it before just stopping and forgetting about it, I was too bored to go on.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

I loved Contact Harvest, it was by far my favourite Halo novel.

There's a good one here.

I don't think it includes the Reach game, though.

This one has more information, but is not as pretty. :)

"but you already knew that, I mean, how couldn't you?

Only when no Human brick is left atop another, shall we be satisfied with your destruction.

As RKOSNAKE has sugested, reading them in the order they came out is probably best, as if you read them in chronological order some bits might seem a little odd, not to mention that The Fall of Reach covers a 25 year period.

Most are quite well written, however The Flood is *very* poorly written, and I wouldn't waste your money on it-it's basically a poorly worded novelisation of Halo CE on easy. You're better off just playing the game for that one, the extra stuff the book adds in doesn't add anything to the game's story, and is mostly cringe-inducingly stupid anyway.

Signatures are for squares.

Read them in this order:

-Fall of Reach
-The Flood(This is the only book you can skip without missing anything.)
-First Strike
-Ghosts of Oynx
-Contact Harvest
-Cole Protocol
-Evolutions
-Cryptum

Also;

-Halo Graphic Novel
-Uprising
-HellJumper
-Bloodlines
