It's not going to stop just because the trolls have left. It's going to excel as you've said because all that's ever posted about now is what's listed above. Why not give it a try?
6 months or maybe a year ago this forum was real casual and yes, there were repetitive posts but it was nothing like it is now. Of course we enjoy H2 and of course there's never much new to be said. Same with any old game forum.
After the troll set his talons into this forum the spamming from both sides has gradually increased. However, it usually starts with a baited remark or a snide or malicious side remark
from said troll. It's designed to get under peoples skin and it does. Some members here know that useless threads annoy the hell out of the troll more than it annoys members that want to be here and then the troll just has to come back. He's turned it into a war when a war wasn't needed.
The more that cycle happens the more it happens until we reach this point, flooded with spam from both sides of the coin. The goal of the troll is to make this place so miserable that people leave and so far it looks like it just might work.
I say again, this place was real easy going and relaxed before the troll, so it's pretty easy for me to see it going back to that if the troll leaves. People could disagree a lot and there were opinions galore and stupid things said but we never used to argue and pick sides. I don't think the troll gives a damn about what we think about Halo, he's just getting his rocks off.
The fun is gone so yeah, I will follow my own advice and not click to a place that I don't want to be. Hats off to you Jacob, all we wanted is a peaceful place to come and talk about Halo 2 but you fixed that little flaw.
Edit: I want to be clear, before the invasion of one we were repetitive but not to the scale it is today. If someone got out of hand we policed ourselves and told that person to knock it off in a way that could be taken as benign or even blunt but hardly ever a snide, hurtful side remark.
