You have the right idea. While I dont know how large of a lake you live on and how far it is to the other side that has high-speed internet, I dont think it will work. That amount of cable would require a pretty large power source, and Im sure that the cost to buy the underwater RJ45 and to bury it under the bed of the lake would be expensive. You could try to see if there is any wireless access in the area, and maybe work out a deal with the town and make the lake a high-speed wireless "hotspot" That would be your best bet. If all else fails, you could get satellite internet, but it is very expensive and you will always have lag. I hope I helped.
