If Truth left High Charity in the Forerunner Dreadnought, which powers High Charity (as explained in Contact Harvest), in Halo 2, how was the Gravemind able to jump to slipspace in Halo 3?

Hmmm...i never thought about that

Bungie Pentathlon - who actually cares ?

I am guessing stored back up energy - you could destroy some of them (or their conduits) in the Gravemind level in Halo 3

That would be my best explanation....good question though

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

I'm sure High Charity had a backup. Cortana says the Keyship powered the city, that's not to say it powered the station. The reactors in Halo 3's mission Cortana pretty much tells us that the city had backup generators or reactors. Plus at the end of Halo 2, Gravemind had access to most of the Covenant's and UNSC's tech, so I'm sure he could have rigged something up.

Never say you're bored. Never say you're satisfied with the world. Never stop doubting or questioning things. Always wonder. Always think. But always take time to drop your guard, you don't have to be smart all the time.

this

Also, the gravemind didn't go through slipspace, the Flood did, as Neaural Physics explains the gravemind is an entity, created through the bondings of countless memories, As for the creature of H2, that was just created so the gravemind could talk through it.

I would say they were able to jump by using back up energy. Also i dont think the flood needed a runnin city to live in.

"Ignorance is a plague."

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

It wasn't all of Gravemind that traveled. Gravemind is the Flood, all of it.

Only a really tiny portion of the Dreadnought's energy was enough to power High Charity. I am sure there would have been enough energy left after the ship took off.
