Subject: Future of Halo

If you've played halo 3 on legendary, you'll see that master chief drifts to a mysterious planet at the end of the game. With that, do you think there will be another halo game with master chief in the future, if so, what might we find on the planet that master chief has arrived at?

Never say you're bored. Never say you're satisfied with the world. Never stop doubting or questioning things. Always wonder. Always think. But always take time to drop your guard, you don't have to be smart all the time.

this question has been asked alot.....
I believe it's the planet Bornstellar was on with the council and Medicant Bias. why?

1. The planet in Origins has the same surface shape.
2. We know Medicant Bias made a connection to the Ark from there
3. The Libraion had a portal on the planet to go to the Ark

Too bad for you, bungie left Halo .

What did you heard?

BTW 343I gives more attention to the expanded universe then Bungie does.

Doubtful. The books are rarely ever incorporated into the games, and when they are it is usually in the form of easter eggs such as the radio transmissions.

But 343 industries uses alot of the EU.

Just look at defiant ,there was also a recent interview where he confirmed it.

Expect other teams of spartans in Halo 4.Noobs will be probably be like "bungie said teh chief was the last one"

  • 03.24.2011 9:00 AM PDT

thats true but it just wont be the same as when bungie does it its a shame

Why is it a shame?

Sure both of them are different but why do you think 343 won't do good?

  • 03.24.2011 9:05 AM PDT

dont get me wrong i think it will be good it just wont have the same feel to it but hey who knows it might be better it might be worse we can only wait and see

No offense, but I think all this worship of 343 is just plain silly, they really haven't done anything to do deserve all the praise they're getting. I haven't seen anything at all that sets them apart from Bungie in anyway except for name.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't think they're going to suck or anything, I trust them completely with Halo's story, because Frank O'Connor is the head of the company, but I see no reason for why they are being proclaimed the "saviors of Halo" and everybody seems to be worshiping the ground they walk on, they've done nothing different than what Bungie has done over the years with the story.
So why is everybody "worshiping" them?

The planet in Origins doesn't look anything like the Legendary Planet. How many bodies of water did you see on the LP? There are none, also the Glyph on the planet in Origins is completely different to the nuerous ones on the LP.

I ight also add that Cortana notes it to be the first place the Flood fought with the Forerunners, meaning it's much more likely to be G617-g1 from the Terminals.

2. We know Medicant Bias made a connection to the Ark from there

True.

3. The Libraion had a portal on the planet to go to the Ark

The Librarian constructed the Portal Artefact on Earth and shut it down once she remotely destroyed the Keyships that might activate it.

I can tell you right now it isn't G617 (seaward) seeing how the planet was clearly made. Seaward was a rural forerunner planet only know to the very very rich.

I've not read that before, I assume it's from Soma the Painter because it's certainly not in Cryptum.

Yes, it is from Soma.

If the planet is in the milky i highly doubt we are going to be able to guess it. But if MB is sending him to the forerunners and we are going with the idea they left the galaxy; We should check the magellanic clouds.

EDIT: Funny, i just did i quick image check of the clouds and this came up http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://ngala.as.arizona.e du/dennis/images/30Dor_log.jpg&imgrefurl=http://ngala.as. arizona.edu/dennis/mcsurvey.html&usg=__FodR_DREHxEjz6dUqx Wy_ZklPZc=&h=786&w=750&sz=89&hl=en&start= 0&zoom=1&tbnid=bWc5EFy2g2eKpM:&tbnh=123&tbnw= 108&ei=S3qLTbkE0J2BB5uywMwN&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dmagell anic%2Bclouds%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX%26biw%3D1259%26bih% 3D680%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx= 1014&vpy=355&dur=1703&hovh=230&hovw=219&t x=132&ty=219&oei=S3qLTbkE0J2BB5uywMwN&page=1& ndsp=28&ved=1t:429,r:27,s:0

Can't say it isn't interesting, though i know this doesn't mean anything.

Doesn't the Encyclopedia state that they simply left the Orion Arm? I personally find that unlikely, but if so then we have two sources clashing.

Magellanic Clouds would make sense, the area around the Legendary Planet looks very similar to them.

EDIT: WTF, how did we simultaneously come up with exactly the same motivation to look up and post the exact same images? :P

IT first says they left the orion arm, then it says they left the galaxy. seeing how the ark was just outside the milkyway and the pinnical of there tech i doubt with current knowledge they could have left the milkyway to another galaxy.

But If the were to leave, i think the magellinic clouds would be our best but. It is ouside of our galaxy, but i think they could do it.

Great Minds think alike :)

That was directed at revan, not you. Here's a helpful hint, if someone posted a quote, then look and see who they quoted, that generally tells you who they're talking to :)

Weren't the Flood from the Magellanic Clouds though? Why would the Forerunners run into where the Flood came from if they left the galaxy?

@grey
Why would leaving the galaxy be beyond Forerunner technology? It'd just be like any other trip for them, except they'd be leaving the Milky Way instead of traveling within it. It shouldn't take any special technology to leave the galaxy, all you need is a ship that's space worthy and something similar to cryo freezing to keep you alive until you settle.

It was never stated where the flood came from other than the IRIS nebula, which i should look up again. the humans guessed they came from the clouds but we can't be sure seeing how the prisoner knows of them.

Moving an entire empire from one galaxy to another takes alot of preperation much like moving to a whole other country.
You need a population, ships to keep the population on and for defense. You then need some way to feed all the people and ways to fix damages to a ship when they occur. You also need some means of finding planet that you can live on when you get to that other galaxy. There are just so many variables to consider, just look at battlestar galactica, stargate atlantis, mass effects quarins, etc.
