Sure, the title seems a bit unnecessary (Legendary is supposed to be hard) but here's the point:

Last year, my Xbox busted, and Microsoft sent me a new one. Since they didn't keep the old harddrive, that means that all my old games were no more.

So, I had to beat Halo on all the difficulty settings all over again.

I just finished Heroic last week, and it was much harder than I was used to. (I've been playing Halo 2 campaign more so than Halo: CE, and Heroic in H2 is (while still challenging) much easier than in H:CE.

Then, I moved to Legendary. Now, when I beat it originally (in 2002/2003/2004) I did so with my brother in co-op. Since there were a pair of Spartans, it was difficult, but playable and straightforward.

HOWEVER, now going back and playing on my own, I have finally appreciated how well Bungie constructed the AI and environments in the game. Wow, it's hard to beat on your own! So many complex challenges thrown into a certain part of a level; clever, difficult stuff.

I just beat 343 Guilty Spark (not as hard as I thought it would be) I decided to save the Library for tomorrow, which I am dreading. Why?
1. Library on Heroic was horrendously difficult and frustrating for me. So Legendary will be that much more so.
2. I hate the Library because it's so repitive and one-dimensional to play.
3. I hate the lack of variety of enemies. The same Flood guys over and over. I hate the Flood.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

uze teh Plazma piztool.

I do not know, last time I played The LIbrary on Legendary I only died a couple of times, mostly walking around a corner and being hit by a rocket. Otherwise, it actually seemed easy.

Sighness

Indubidubly. Banana.

I never used the pistol on Halo CE, I used Shotgun and Assault rifle with a mix of grenades.

Anywho, my advice would be this:

If you don't have a shotgun yet, you'll get on after you massacre a few flood in the first room. Use that to take out the Flood combat forms. Nothing else.

When you see Carriers/Popcorn balls use the AR. Burst spray, don't hold it down and gather them in groups so they'll all pop since they're retarded >_>;

Use grenades when you see more than 3 Combat forms running at you. Best to throw it at your feet or a little away from you and run backwards. They'll be stupid enough to jump at you and blow up (Cause the grenade fuses are so long). Save Sticky's for sticking unsuspecting Flood or if you're desperate and always use Frags for groups or getting out of sticky situations.

Also I'd like to add that if you run out of grenades or you want to save them, use the flood carriers as explosives since they too kill whatever is around them.

Sometimes there's Glass flooring which'll help you out. Shoot at the glass till it breaks and run a little ahead to lure the flood in, then jump over it and run backwards and most of the time the Flood will run at you and fall into the pits. Saves ammo, and you get a laugh out of it.

Always save health packs. If you have more than 3 bars keep going through and BEFORE you get on lifts, always run back to any missed health packs. ALWAYS. As you'll never get back to them and you should have full health before hitting the lifts.

If you find rockets, always ditch your AR for them. If you see a pistol...I see no use for them.

the pistol kills the combat forms actually much faster than the AR does...try it sometime

Yeah...see I got bored with that level. So I always found it fun to just run through it.

Small dudes?...Ignore or Bash, they are not worth ammo.

Carriers? Just run and jump. As soon as you clear them, keep running. The carriers will explode and kill anything behind you, plus it saves ammo and doesn't hurt your shields.

Combats? They should just run after you. Blast them if they are in front of you, and try to kill them, but never stop running.

At all times you will have atleast 7-10 guys following you, but the MC is very fast and out distances them eventually.

Only at certain parts did this not work, but then again those parts always have checkpoints.

This is only if you lose your patience. Got me through Legendary alright.

As long as you have the Shotgun or Pistol, it should be relatively easy.

I believe the Elites were the only annoying part on Legendary, primarliy the Red Elites since they are the more common of the stronger forms.

I think that Halo 2 on legendary is much more difficult than Halo: Combat Evolved... By the way, if you never touch the assault rifle on legendary, use the plasma pistol and pistol combo and if you always shoot the enemies in the head with the sniper, you'll be fine. And remember to be patient and take cover.

I went through with Shotgun/Plasma Rifle/Pistol. Always a combination of two fo those three. That worked the best for me. I also skipped a few bits. (Ooo, cheater) I finished it quicker than I did on Heroic! The Plasma Pistol has been magical on the harder difficulties.

I'm in the middle of Two Betrayals now. I'm stuck at one of those circular rooms with Flood on every side. I have, like, three bars of health and no health packs anywhere which I can find. I have one full clip of shotgun, 3 stickie, 1 frag, and I think a Plasma Pistol.

I'll try again tomorrow. After that, all I have to do is Keyes, because I did Legendary Maw a few weeks ago on accident.

well, your stock isn't really ideal for this particular situation, but I'll tell you how I usually beat those, stock up on your frags, run into the middle of the room so all the flood spawn then immediately back out the way you came in. lob a couple grenades in the middle and fire a few rounds, you want to lure the flood into the hallway you came from and kill them a couple at a time. use your shot for kills, pistol to draw them in, just make sure you watch the sides when you enter, there's a good chance that there are fatties there.
