Thing is though that suppressors in real life don't actually make for "silent" weapons. They're used to mask the sound of a gun and where that sound originates from in the midst of other sounds such as unsuppressed gunfire. And of course sure there's the whole "it's a game" argument and what not, but it's kinda irksome how there's this misconception that silenced weapons mean they're silent in relatively peaceful calm settings when in reality firing a silenced weapon when nothing is happening is essentially the same as firing a non-silent weapon.
I understand that. I simply mean that from a realistic distance, lets say from one end of a street in New Mombasa to the other or from a building to street level, it is unlikely that one would here the suppressed *pfft* of the guns. Same applies to sniping, from great distances the gunshot is silent. I would have like that to be incorporated.
Another nice touch would be if you could hear more ambient battle sounds. You could use these sounds to your advantage (i.e. if you shoot something the sound could be drowned out by a nearby explosion), making the game more realistic. It would also add another element of difficulty to the game and another layer to the stealth beyond not being seen.
I realize that silenced weapons aren't completely silenced, but they are, still, pretty damn silent. And since it's 500 years in the future, I believe they can make it so it makes barely any sound at all. Maybe not, but who knows.
