I cant put my finger on it but, ODST seemed to have more of a survival thrill than Reach. Maybe the sheild and health system. Maybe the lack of a Human rifle. I dunno exactly but there is just something that makes it more enjoyable. Anyone agree?

Ya, I loved ODST firefight because it was challenging. Spending hours with my friends trying to get Endure was really fun. Reach firefight is way too easy now: rocket launchers, unlimited ammo, jet packs, and overshields...

I agree 100%. In ODST, it was about having fun with a group of close friends and surviving. In Reach, it's just about getting as many credits as possible. At least that's how I feel when I play it. No challenge whatsoever. =/

I prefer ODST Firefight myself.
And i heavily dislike the Target Locator in Reach FF, it just makes things too easy and people are fighting for it.

YES i liked firefights better on ODST, it just gave you that vibe or feeling that halo reach firefight doesn't give you.

The biggest difference as I see it is that the maps in ODST were just so much better. I don't know why, but the ODST maps were just so well designed that they made firefight great.

The only advantage that Reach has is that there are no engineers (or the ones that there are can be killed easily).

Also ODST didn't have firefight matchmaking, and that can be a drag when you're looking for a party to play with.

Simple fix is to grab some friends and go in as a party. Also ODST firefight was much better with the fact that you were a fragile, HUMAN ODST which put the game into way more perspective than some ultra secret, classified killing machine/super soldier.

Yea I agree ODST is WAY better than reachs firefight like some other people said it gives you a survival feeling or something and reach is basically you can customizze and its way to easy

Definitely. Plus, I loved the survival thrill of hiding on Security Zone (or whatever the outdoor version of Alpha Site is called) down at the bottom, with one pistol magazine and low health, and then trying to get back up to the top of the map with only one life left. It's a lot of fun and requires amazingly tactical gameplay on Legendary.

Some of my friends would disagree with that sentiment. ;)

But yes, Firefight in ODST had more of a survival aspect to it. I think part of it is because the maps are designed such that you have your backs to the wall (except for Lost Platoon, where you are surrounded).

Winning or losing doesn't really matter much to me. I play for fun, and nothing you can say will change that. Sure, I have a low K/D, sure, I have a low rank in Halo 3, but I really don't care. It's not like it actually means anything. It's a number. And for the record, opinion and fact are two completely different things.

actually there are engineers in Reach. In Corvette if you look in the the middle of the map at the top, sometimes an engineer will spawn there up in the frozen hole thingy haha ive killed it a couple times

Well,ODST Is more hardcore
All about to survive
Reach is more fun and casual
But in Reach you can make firefight customs etq :P
FF classic is great,and Unearthed is the best Reach firefight map
But ODST Firefight is cool,more pro
