Hi everyone.

I just buyed Halo CE for PC. I never played Halo 1 and 2 as I started playing Halo on the 360 with Halo 3.

Anyways , the problem is that I want to make a backup of the game in case something happens to the disc , but I dont know how.

Can someone lend me a hand here?

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

There are ways to make a direct copy of the disc, bypassing the copy protection, but you can easilly just copy the files on the CD to a folder, then burn those files to a blank disc. The latest Halo PC patch removes the CD check when you start the game, so be sure to include it in the copy.

If you make sure that haloupdate.exe is included in your backup then you won't need to include a copy of the manual v1.09 patch installer. Reason being that you can just simply run haloupdate.exe and it will download the latest update.

Both manually installing patch v1.09 and installing patch v1.09 via haloupdate.exe will work.

But it's up to you.

I know I'm spitting hairs... no offense node:)

You're right, I just always assume my net is going to go out while I sleep. Having the patch means being able to play without the CD in the event you can't get online.

Excellent point, my good sir.
