Cheese, yum.

This is probably the 3rd time I've posted this, nobody ever answers me.

Every single time I put the Halo 2 disc in and it opens startup.exe, it's ALWAYS this.

Just a blue screen. Forever. (note that filesmelt sometimes gives off virus things to anti viruses. I've never heard of that happening, only on Bungie.net. The people that say this happen usually have Norton... so.. yeah.)

I've tried running it in compatibility mode for Windows Vista. All my drivers are updated.

If you want me to post my specs I will

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Another one.....

H2V must really suck now.

Honestly if you're not going to help, just don't post. I've been dealing with this same -blam-ing problem for months and nobody helps. Ever.

My Youtube - Halo 2 Online Co-op
BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

What about http://forums.gamesforwindows.com ?

Try asking there. They will deny any issues saying "GFWL IZ PERFECT LULUL". Then once you don't get help, they will call you a "Steam Fanboy"

Not sure I follow you, if it always blue screens on Autorun, then how have you tried it in compatibillity mode.

Win 7 -64 does not need compatibility mode to run H2V. It runs great in Win7 assuming your system running smoothly to begin with.

If you have not been able to launch from the disc, them try disabling Auto-Play and launching the installer directly from the disc:

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-se curity/disabling-autorun-windows-7/7ba51974-c009-44ad-9067-f3 968744175b

Also, before installing, try shutting down every program you can from the task manager (ctrl-alt-del, task manager, processes tab). Some processes cannot be shut down, and closing others may lock your system or reboot it, but you'll get the feel eventually, and most will be named in such a way that you can discern what they do. Anything you close on this screen should restart after a reboot.
