Subject: Will they make another Marathon?

Possible but unlikely. Bungie hasn't shown any interest in going back to their older series. Also Marathon is what, ten years old? FPS's have improved alot since then and rebooting Marathon with newer gameplay mechanics might not be a good idea. And will most likely piss off its fans. I haven't played it myself so I don't know for sure.

No, Halo is ten years old, Marathon is 17 years old.

Now I know you're just yanking my chain.

Read this. It's explained quite clearly.
The funniest thing about that thread is that in trying to prove that the Master Chief arrived at Mars in the Marathon universe, the OP is unknowingly contradicting facts of the Marathon story. If his argument that Master Chief arrived at Mars sometime after 2552 were actually true, it would be direct evidence that Halo's Master Chief and Marathon's Security Officer could not possibly be the same person and that Master Chief could not have been anywhere near the Marathon.

His timeline is a bit off. The events of Marathon 1 take place in 2772 (approximately 200 years after the events of Halo in 2552). However the voyage of the Marathon from Mars to Tau Ceti began in 2472. By 2552 and later, the Marathon was well on its way to Tau Ceti and nowhere near Mars. Not to mention that the Security Officer's whereabouts were known before the Marathon left Mars, when it arrived at Tau Ceti, and when the Pfhor attacked. He didn't miraculously drop out of the sky in the wrecked husk of a broken ship, be it at Mars or Tau Ceti.

Of course any attempts at direct connections between the two universes are rent asunder by the technology contradictions between the two.

I do find it both amusing and frustrating that the vast majority of the "OMG HALO = MARATHON!!!" threads never bother to cite supporting facts from the Marathon story.

As Placid noted, a remake or sequel to Marathon Infinity is not necessary.
