awesome, great quality and detail.
Why thank you good sir.
the adjustable stock seems to have simple bars that go into the body of the rifle, but as it's a Bullpop design the bars will go through the magazine.
Yes I realize that, and I am actually going to fix that, but you should look at the gun I worked from, it didn't really have a magazine at all. Not using that as an excuse.
The case ejection hole in the side seems to be way to small, and placed too far ahead of the magazine. in most rifles the cases come out above the magazine, not infront of it.
To make the rifle I got the dimensions from the image itself, the ejection hole is approximately the right size in the gun itself. Also take a look at a lot of the Assault rifles, most of them deal with an ejection hole far ahead of the magazine. Take a look at the concept art, you'll see the halo 3 assault rifle has it far ahead the magazine.
I'll make a little disclaimer right now:
My intent with this 3D gun was for aesthetic purposes only.
The grip seems to have a quite angular shape, might be difficult to hold comfortably. maybe soften it up a bit. and enlarge the hole where you place the thumb when holding the rifle.
Yeah, the grip was just a little drive by addition that I added.
In the casing on top of the fore part of the rifle, there is a small, barrel like pipe, what does it do?
It was something I remember seeing on the Halo Reach assault rifle, as to it's purpose I have no idea what it is. But I would like to think that it's a camera that feeds video into the HUD of a spartan or one of the Reach army soldiers HUD.
I'm by no means trying to shoot you down or anything. I think constructive critisism will help you develop skills with design and 3d. which are already quite good
No worries, I definitely like constructive criticism, a lot of problems with making something in 3D is obsessing about something you made, which makes you make changes again and again and again. Which doesn't really help you change the design and sometimes even ruins it. So the best method is to show your work to others so they too can see the image, and criticize your work as it should be modified.
I will be changing the stock and if I can the grip (A whole mess of polygons that grip is, not gonna be fun modifying it). But if I do take care of the grip then I will probably make some changes to that entire area.
