I was about to make a group when I noticed something in the agreement statement:

Agreement Statement

Also remember the 7th Column is not for your Quake clan, it is for Bungie gamers.

Now I was going to make a group for Bungie users that own Blizzard games and wish to discuss them (e.g. exchange strategies, organise matches etc.). After reading this though, I am not sure if it implies to what kind of group I have in mind.

So can anyone elaborate and clarify this?

Devil is Double is Deuce and Joker always trumps Deuce.

I had always assumed that chapters were for whatever you wanted, so long as they didn't break the Rules. If there's an issue with chapters not associatted with Bungie/Bungie games, then a fair amount of people have an issue. I myself run an (albeit dead) chapter based on VALVe games.

Well has that not been updated recently? Seeing as times have changed, they might want to alter that statement :p

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

There ar groups dedicated to many game besides halo.

So either that rule was a joke, or bungie doesnt have the power to stop people from making whatever kind of group they want.

So make your group.

No company that uses terms like, head-to-head, man-on-man, action-sack, and mancannon is homophobic.
I supposed that teabagging is.... what, a representation of a new form of colonoscopy?

I was just checking out a group in EAGLES5's sig and I saw the Lost group. If a moderator made a group about a TV show; I think your group will be fine.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

I think that that rule is to prevent this scenario: This guy, let's call him BoB, likes Quake. He forms a Quake clan. Now BoB wants a website for his clan, but he doesn't want to pay for a domain, and free websites kind of suck, not to mention that they usually don't look too good. Then his friend, let's call him Moagim, is an avid Bungie fan, but he also enjoys a good game of Quake now and then. So Moagim tells BoB about this neat chapter system Bungie.Net has, so BoB makes a chapter for his clan, and tells all of his clanmembers to make a B.Net account and join. Now not only is Bungie paying for their clan's website, but they also have increased traffic from people who don't like Bungie games at all. So while Bungie doesn't mind hosting min-websites for its fans (like the Lost chapter and all the other off-topic chapters), they don't want people here just to exploit their generosity. Or at least that is how I interpret it, since the rule said "Bungie gamers," not Bungie games, which would prohibit all off-topic chapters.

Its impossible to enforce that then even if its a serious rule.

Not necessarily. Achronos has the ability to delete chapters. And uses it, actually. It just wouldn't be worth the time and effort to enforce.

How can they stop people from making groups that aren't Bungie-related? They can't.

Well The rule has said before refers to people who join bungie just to use the free group making system, nit cuz they are fans.

But again there is no way to enforce the rule. You can never know why someone joined bungie.

I am convinced that clause is left over from when b.net had only a few thousand members, and use by nonbungie fans would have rocketed their bandwith requirements.
