50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

You should have posted it there. Posting it here is like posting a link to a Digimon fansite on a Pokemon fansite. All it is going to do is get you flamed.

BUNGIE AND MICROSOFT FAILS HALO 2 VISTA.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

There are Halo 2 fans?

I think he's going to get his group shut down for being empty.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

"Best Xbox V1 game ever?" I laughed so hard I think I pooped a little.

Clean yourself up.

Although Halo 1 did receive higher acclaim than did Halo 2, Halo 2 provided Microsoft with the most profit with over 7million copies sold, in the first year! Now if you can find me a website/article that gives me legit data about the # of CE copies sold, then by all means, post away. Also, as we all know, Halo 2 garnered the most players on Xbox Live for some # of consecutive years.

Best xbox original out there, IMO, and for the millions of others out there.

:)

Sexy. Pics?

I was gonna, but my 3DS died.

Ben, population =/= quality. This is evident even today, as Halo Reach maintains a higher population than BFBC2.

In the sense you put it as, qualities are opinions, Halo 2 is better. Halo 2 had more people playing. More people played it because they liked it better for what it had (the qualities that pertain to them). More opinions Halo 2 > CE

In case you do not understand why the first sentence of this reply is true:
You said that Reach maintains a higher population than BFBC2 indicating your bias. Your opinion is for BFBC2. Therefore you believe BFBC2 has more/better qualities.

You're clearly missing the point. We call this "argumentum ad populum." Go look it up.

Halo 3

Just pointing out flaws in your response, that's all. Ultimately, it's an opinion.

I was noting that qualities may be attributed to personal interests regarding video games. Obviously there was/is a higher percentage of people that enjoy(ed) H2 over CE.

Really, your response doesn't have anything to do with video games. There is nothing factual about video game preferences. There is no fact stating that one is better than the other. Therefore there is no such thing as "argumentum ad populum" for video games.

And I was pointing out the flaw in your response, which is built entirely on a logical fallacy, thus making it a moot point.

This gave me a hearty LOL. I point out that you're doing it, and all of a sudden, it doesn't exist?

  • 03.28.2011 9:31 PM PDT

Halo 3

Yeah. It doesn't exist for video games. There is no ultimate truth behind what is best, and truth is what you need in order to call on a fallacy (such as the bandwagon). Was trying to call you out on that but I guess you don't even know what your own argument means. Classic.

You do realize that argumentum ad populum applies to any argument that's debatable, such as the quality of products in comparison to like products, right?

What am I saying? Of course you know that. You'd have to be clinically retarded to not know that.

Halo 2 has a small population, but it's terrible. There is just drama everywhere.

H2 may have sold more copies, but Halo CE literally sold the Xbox back in '01, that's why Microsoft bought the rights from Bungie (a Mac developer) and had the game completely rewritten for Windows. Halo was first shown to the public at Mac Expo '99.

Reread my first sentence in the quoted paragraph that you used.

"Although Halo 1 did receive higher acclaim than did Halo 2. . . "

I never disagreed with that, Frnksnbns.

I never said anything about the acclaim or that stuff.

I was just point out that back in 2001, people were very skeptical about Microsoft making a console, and as a launch title, Halo basically sold the thing to many people. It was the must have game at the time on any console.

H2 sold more copies for a number of reasons. By that time, Xbox had a much larger installed base of owners. It offered online play, and the growing fans of Halo CE were ready for the next version. A lot of the H2 buyers didn't even play Halo CE, they just bought it on the name alone.

I'm not a huge H2 hater, but Halo CE was a much different game made by a different team. They are very different games.

Acclaimed = all the reasons posted above this post. The reasons above are examples of why Halo 1 is more acclaimed than H2. Think about it this way, though: What if Halo 2 was made first?

Then it would have been written off as yet another sub-par FPS game being made at the time and Halo would have never seen a sequel.

Oh god I think I may have started another rage. lol
