Just a thought that popped into my head. How do you think Halo would be different if assassinations(and the assassination engine itself) were incorporated into Halo 3 BEFORE Reach?

We wouldn't be as excited about them, although if they were in Halo 3, there would have been two times more than we currently have in Reach.

Everybody would scream about the Katana Assassinations.

There is no special assassination for the Security Kukari...so I doubt there would be one of the Katana...

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

It would barely change the gameplay at all.

Ahh, but if there were assassinations in Halo 3, public outcry about no katana assassinations would lead to there being some about the kukari.
(somehow, that doesn't look spelled right)

I don't think it would make a big difference.

Slow down gameplay a bit, and it might get some hate from the competitive side. Mostly that they didn't want to perform it and they possibly died because of it.

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

Halo Reach would have to step up on the gimmick factor even more, resulting in the gimmickiest gimmickfest of all gimmicks.
It'd be a bigger gimmick than the Wii.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

And they would be right in saying that. Who's idea was it to not include an option to completely turn off assassinations?

...

Hint: Everybody.

It wouldn't be a big deal. Don't know why you're asking this question. Kind of pointless.
