We were told NOT to install Halo 3 to our hard drives but this which is posted here under "New Dog, Old tricks..." completely contrdicts that.
With multiple Xbox 360 SKUs without hard-drives, Halo 3, a game optimized for a hard drive, has to run off a DVD. Fortunately, it does. This session will cover the design and implementation of that work, from a high level approach to understanding content usage to how designers can create levels that run off a DVD effectively to the low level details of a high performance I/O engine.
Nothing major but I just saw it then and though, why not.

Where is the contradiction? In that quote they said not to install it too.

Halo 3 being optimized for the harddrive means it is ALREADY at its peak. It has already been optimized for best performance.

I changed usernames to match my gamertag. My original account, wambo114, was created when I got xbox live. I'm a 2007 kid really!

Halo 3 came out before the install to harddrive feature was released so halo 3 wasn't built for installing onto a harddrive.

also i would advise you to install it on your harddrive if your game is starting to crack as mine has a massive crack in the middle of it but because i got my mates disk and installed it i was able to play of the disk for another 5months before it finally failing. when i didn't have it installed the disk didnt work.
