Subject: Why do you have to be like IW, Bungie?

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

It makes me cry a little every night, I can safely say that maybe making a double exp playlist pop up in the list will take 5 - 10 minutes at the most, and updating some of the playlists with other stuff that the community wants wouldn't take long either, it's not like they are gonna loose 1 million dollars if a employee would take 30 minutes to update the playlists in some way, I have always said to myself that when I become a game developer I am going to put myself out there to listen to what the community wants and try and listen best I can within reason, and asking to update a playlist to a game that you developed is something that I personally would not shrug off so lightly.

I could not agree more. It's not like we're asking them for anything drastic. I mean c'mon. It's just simple updates every now and then.

Believe me, I know it won't. It's not like Bungie reads these threads anyway. I just wanted to voice my opinion, because I'm a little fed up.

I consider bungie to be better than IW, because IW does nothing to fix their new games. I mean, when did they fix the 10th prestige lobbies? Or make an actually balanced game? So while bungie isn't doing anything for their old games, at least they aren't spitting out the same game every year.

I think Bungie is a helluva lot better then IW. But, they're being like IW by neglecting Halo 3 and the fanbase that still plays it. That's what I'm getting at here. They've just completely disregarded we the players and the game.

Yes in that sense they are like IW.

Yeah considering how MW2 is the most unbalanced game and I don't think any patches are released. It took them months just to patch the care package glitch. IW just neglected it. Sorta like how Bungie is neglecting H3.

I run Skirmish!!!

they abandoned halo 3 and moved on to the ga.yS3, it all started when they partnered up with stupid activision, then they went don the toilet. they used to be such a community friendly company when halo 2 was still out and halo 3 was popular.. now, nothing.

At one point I considered bungie to be one of the developers that was very interactive with the community, I actually just started posting here like last week or something and I come to realize as far as I know they only post alot of various updates on the homepage which isn't bad but I wish when developers have forums and such and people post things of certain value about your games they would read and make a post about it, I am sure no one from bungie reads this stuff and if they do I apologize but if I was a game developer I would take value in all my games and not toss the predecessor's of a game series that you made and considering you have made 4 games in that series and clearly take a certain value in it and toss it aside, I am not saying apply a new patch for the game or anything but you made double exp weekends every weekend before halo reach and you shouldn't just throw that away it just shows what kind of standard we can expect from you from future games and I am sure when you come out with a new game you will do the same for halo reach, hell if I were able to have the tools and access to your server I would update the playlists myself.

I agree with you 100%. They're not setting too good of an example for their upcoming games. We'll just have to expect them to keep neglecting their old games. Which, is terrible, but in truth it's what they've done. They don't even do something as simple as Double EXP Weekend. :(

I don't really agree that they are being like IW, but I wish 343 or Bungie would still support this fantastic game. Bungie Favorites annoys me, tired of Calamity. I miss those Double EXP weekends also. Its just so sad to see 17,000 online and only about 140 in Team Mythic.

I would just like some support from these terrific game makers for their fantastic game which is somewhat more fun than their most recent.

There is like at least 100 000 online, what you see as the population for both the overall pop and the individual playlist pop is incorrect, if you open matchmaking option and wait it will tell you how many are in the playlist with a more realistic number, I count about 50 000 in all the ranked playlist and not sure about the social ones but there is always more in social so there is probaly around 100 000, there is no way I go into a playlist that has 30 people in it and find a match.

I was on this night and it said "Population online: 21,000" or so. Where are you getting 100,000 from? Halo Reach?

Read what I said, the pop is def bugged if there is 30 people in a playlist and I get a match as fast as I did then there is no way there is 30 people in that playlist, if you are in a ranked lobby before you start searching open matchmaking options with X and wait for it to load it will tell you all the rank and how many people at the ranks and then it will say the population of that playlist above it.

Yes, that is true. It will show the real numbers once you wait.

Anyway, i totally agree with most of the posts here, this neglect of the "most awesome video game ever" clearly shows that they dont care anymore. And remember all those commercials, all those vidocs, all those press conferences. Sudenly halo:Reach comes out and everybody forgot about it, makes me sad :((((((

H3 MM warrior

Reach S7, 8 and 9 arena warrior.

H4 MM legend

I would really really like some 2xp please bungie. Or if you dont want to do it assign some intern. If you dont trust em, ask 343. There really isnt a good excuse not to.

The ignorance of people of the Bungie.net forums - yes, ALL of them - is simply astounding. First of all OP, your comparison with Bungie and Infinity Ward is apt, but not for the reasons you chose. IW no longer tends to their games or supports their community because they no longer exist. They had a row with Activision and half their design team jumped ship/was fired. There is no more IW.

The same can somewhat be said about Bungie. It's not that Bungie doesn't care, but rather the fact that they no longer have any say in what happens with Halo. Yes, they make a few playlist updates here and there to appease the whiny Reach forum, but that's it. Bungie WON'T be making a title update for Reach, and I think it's a safe bet that they have slightly more important things to worry about than what pictures you guys see when you press start. Things may change when 343i comes in, but I wouldn't hold my breath. As bad as many people seem to think it is, Reach still holds one of the top places on the XBL charts, and in the eyes of the devs is where the most money can be made from, not to give a fresh experience for a 3 1/2 year old game that relatively few people play.

Bungie is still supporting B.net, because that isn't Halo. It's their website for supporting their community, as self-entitled as its members may be, so for all of you saying "BUT B.NET IS RUNNING, WHY AREN'T THEY DOING ANYTHING!!!" it's because they can't. They no longer have anything to do with Halo other than a few minor play list changes. Aside from the back-support of stats and game recording, Bungie is DONE.

Indeed. Makes me more then sad. It's my favorite game of all time. When I bought my 360, I bought Halo 3 with it and that's all I played. It was the most fun I had with any game. Ever. Now, the abomination of a game, Reach comes out and Halo 3 just gets abandoned. Just waiting to die. But, does Bungie care? No. The only thing they care about is $$$. Just like Micr0soft. I wish Bungie would read this. But, then again, when do they ever read threads in the forum anymore? And if they do read this, I bet they'd make some smart-ass comment like, "Who said we don't read our threads?" (I've already seen that happen.)
