The pain subsides, my vision clearing and the black splotches taking leave. The bright-white-gray cloudy sky burns into my retinas and I whip up my hand, tattered and torn underneath this armor, shielding my face from the light. The setting is urban, wrecked and crumbled, my gun is nowhere in sight nor reach. I hear groaning and gunfire; my ears hone in on it and then my visor lights up: three blocks away, two down.

I raise myself on my left arm and look at my unscathed Nanosuit 2 and sigh. When will I be able to take leave? We know this city's bound to come down to its knees. A tremor shakes me from my thoughts and I survey the area, seeing a SCAR-AB with a broken reflex sight on the ground meters ahead. I walk over to it, glass crunching beneath my boots, and put a silencer and laser-sight on it. I then turn on my armor and the gel coincides with my flesh and bones and then materializes.

I walk around a shattered corner and my senses become washed in static...

Wave after wave of super-heated rounds impacted my chest, head and right arm, shredding my shielding and throwing me back a couple meters, ending with a concrete wall to me head. Stars comes to vision and then I hear a light alarm:suit energy gone. Damn, I curse mentally, any more and those rounds would've eaten through. I get up and look for any cover: three pillars line the wall to my left, holding an unsteady roof. Three barricades, all ruined and re-bar jolting out, line and block the road from vehicles ahead. I take my chances by running up to the first pillar, slamming to a crouch, leveling my SCAR-AB around the corner, and blasting, hot shells whizzing from the chamber.

I hear a grunt-bark, like they're known for, and then metal slam the ground: turning the corner, I see the first Ceph Heavy and duck back around, the giant laser-rifle thing on its hand warming up and shredding the wall inches in front of my visor. I squat back, energy all here, and then put on cloak, running to my right behind the barricade and then between them, the wall now just chunks from the blast. The grunt lay splayed across on other barricade and I sneak to its body, not betraying my position behind the block, and pull a magazine into my rifle, slinging it back. I then wait for my energy and go cloak with my pistol and siluencer.

The Heavy turns around, walking back up to the crumbled and once-magnificent building, and hops over a wall, behind a corner and gone. I sigh and hop the block, walking with undying gentleness on the glass, beams, bramble and concrete. New York City? I think you might want to rename it Rumble City. I hear screams and gunfire coming from down the road still and turn to sprinting. A wall pops out of nowhere, sending me back across the walk-way type thing and the Heavy takes form.

It roars, I step, its fist crashes down on my back and I see the wall come flying at me.

WHAM! Pain incinerates my back, neck and ribs. Red and black hues fill my vision. The suit gets me back up and I unsling my SCAR-AB, running back to my feet and around the Heavy, lobbing a grenade in front of it and dive behind a bush. It blows pieces of metal into the sky and the Heavy to its knees and I sprint-jump to it, leaving the air and jam the rifles barrel into its eye, blowing brains and liquid metal of the back of its head. My vision still swims as I can only teeter from the head and collapse back down, three ribs snapped, two vertebrae crushed and one lung bleeding.

I see the sky roll to my left, right, bob three times and then blackness overcomes me..

No errors, bub. I've been making stories and short-stories for almost four years.

Yes, this is a short; not, it's not finished.

Crysis 2 has a story? I've played about half of it and so far all it is seems to be CELL wanting my suit back and aliens who came from no where attacking New York.

I guess I should have played the first.

Oh, and only Halo fan fiction is allowed here, I'm sorry to say. There are groups you can join for posting other writing.
