Subject: Ancients or Forerunners?

Uhhhh....ya, they are. They used the rings and got themselves killed. Appearently, they did not make it to the shields worlds (no sign of civlization on Onyx world).

The Ancients are the ones that survived.

Never say you're bored. Never say you're satisfied with the world. Never stop doubting or questioning things. Always wonder. Always think. But always take time to drop your guard, you don't have to be smart all the time.

Both seem equal, but how can we even have a war if we can't balence the physics of both universes.

Heres a scary thought: A halo ring backed by the power of an Arcterius Reactor.

Contradiction seeing how earlier it said they left the orion arm (which makes far more sense when you actually think about it).

And to be honest the Forerunners are mor akin to the asgards than the Ancients.

About me: I am a vicious wolf of a man.

But really am sweet at heart. =)

Probably Forerunners.

The Ancients rely too heavily on drone technology, which as we have seen, can be easily spoofed. The Ancients were also sorely lacking in large ships. However, Stargate tech could allow very fast troop movements.

That said, the Forerunners would just have to detonate a Halo in a nearby system, so my vote goes to them.

With OUT Halos however it goes to the Ancients.

If you consider Cryptum and the Precursors, the Great Journey and all of that, Forerunners remaining in the galaxy doesn't make much sense at all (especially since they wanted humanity to inherit everything, why would they still be here?)

And can someone please quote the part that says Orion arm only, because I've read that book cover to cover twice and have never seen a single mention of it.

You saw anton's post on how they only controlled a fraction over a fraction of the milky way. Seeing how the forerunners rise to power only started 25,000 years ago (construction of the capital) and they had only "modernized" their technology during their "war" with the flood; It makes more sense they they relocated unstead of leaving the galaxy out right.

I don't think they had the technology nor the prep to just leave the galaxy, and there are variables to consider.

smart, interesting, seems out of place.

Official fan of Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, (Problem with that?) Halo, and Bungie, also a total gaming junkie.

Tough choice, but eventually the Precursors come in and annihilate them both.

Of course we'll need to wait for Cryptum 3 for that answer I suppose. Like you said, to many variables.

Damn it hurry up Greg Bear!

And I still can't find where it says Orion Arm.
