I like to play Devil's Advocate

Posted by: MY GAME MANUAL
Fairly effective even in this early prototype stage, it has internal components nearly identical to the covenant gear that has spawned it. The biggest drawback is the local gravitic effect essentially immobilizes the operator

I already posted it....

In the game manual

therefore

Canon

The fact that armor lock is in the game isn't enough evidence its canon?

Holy -blam!-.....I completely overlooked that

Meh...chances are the OP would dismiss it as well

I'll bet he dismisses cancer and 9/11 too

Racism isn't wrong if it's funny.

It's in the game, it's canon. END OF STORY. It's really not that hard to understand. Let go of your precious books and take it for what it is, a game.

What? Your blaming ME for prolonging this thread?

If you knew how to read you would've seen that post! But you kept dismissing it!

In memory of those fallen in the defense of Earth and her colonies.

March 3, 2553

Reach killed Halo. Simple as that.

This thread's length the the monument to your inability to read...

Dustin 6047...I have a question for you...

How do you NOT have the game Manuel?

Did you illegally download this game? That's not a very nice thing to do...people need their paychecks.

But as for Armor Lock.

As much as I hate Reach with every fiber of my being...unfortunately (for you)...it's canon. Appearing in a game is good enough. irregardless of it's game balancing function...it's canon. The concept of the armor lock exists and that should be enough.

If Bungie can retcon the story of Reach and call it Canon...they can have Armor Lock too.

you hate reach so you spent all this time arguing over something so small in the game----

This has been his only post in this thread....

YOU are the one that has been arguing with everyone over something...how did you put it?

something so small in the game

And don't pull me into this....By saying I'm just as guilty as you

I provided proof that could've ended this thread lickity Split...but your stubborness and illiteracy kept that from happening

Armor is canon but certainly not in the way it works in game.

The way armor lock really works is by locking the armors joints and superpressurizing the gel layer.

That means it only makes the user "invincible" to blunt force trauma. It only defends the user internally from something that wouldn't penetrate the armor/shielding in the first place...so not bullets or grenades.

The armor lock ability super charges the shields, shedding grenades and boosting it's ability to absorb damage.

ohh because spartans are fat and lazy and cant run for more than 15 seconds. and i dont know how bodies work. not to mention that the augumentations would give them power to run for even longer distances and times.

I believe it was stated that a Spartan running full speed in armor would shred their ankles.

So I'm stupid for getting agitated by your inability to read?

Step into my shoes for a second....I posted the argument ending evidence 30 posts ago....

Note how I said argument.

This was no debate.

And the person I'm debating with outright ignores it...And says I can't get a Canon source, and I have to waste 30 minutes of my precious time explaining to him that the evidence I posted IS indeed canon by Bungie Standards, only to find out the guy I was debating with didn't even know I posted the evidence.

Which is odd....Considering I posted this right before I posted the argument ending evidence.

Another point for LEARN TO READ POSTS.

I'm done.

This thread can now go die in the hell it spawned from

Depends.

Armor lock as seen in gameplay probably did exist as a prototype.

It would simply be overcharging the sheilds, which is of course a feasible feat for the Covenant, and as I understand, was possible for areas of the sheilds in spartans.

I'd say it's entirely canon, but not entirely invincble.

EDIT: and yes, armor lokc does have canonical sources, other AA and armor lock had some mention in a bnet article, the guidebook, and some other places.

This is my origanal post on another thread about this and it gives a very good reason.

-
Locking your amour and ALing is very diffrent. Locking your amour is when your amour gets fixed in place so you don't die on impact.(like what the MC did at the start of halo 3)
Amour lock is when all of you armors energy goes to the shields.

Now can we stop with this dumb, off the top of your head argument?

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Armor Lock is pure gameplay. Nothing more.

Canon wise, it is used for what you stated.
