I believe that was the Jackals ORIGINAL home world. When the ring was first fired the species could of easily been moved to another world. I would say they were moved so the rings discovery would not be so easy.

Halo wars is canon. Every single episode besides "Odd one out" (obviously). I would provide you with the confirmation though it is 12:23 am and I am not in the mood to argue.
Legends* See, my insomnia is killing me.

Brains beats brawn get used to it

Fear the Red Comet

Variety is the spice of life.
Long live games.
Death to all fanboys.

Stellar drift?

Also both Halo Wars and Halo Legends (save for Odd One Out) are canon.

Possibly, if only we knew their intentions; well if the Forerunners were trying to hide the rings from other aliens...Well that's assuming if they left the rings for Humans as shown in Halo 3 and hinted at in Halo Wars.

I would assume the Forerunners would want organisms to reestablish and evolve once again. They wouldn't want the rings to be fired when they shouldn't be fired.

That too. But it couldn't have gone far in 10,000 years if it was a slow drift, so maybe it could have been hit by an asteroid that pushed it at a quicker pace. Or fire sequence failure/disruption.

Possibly. I do believe you're right in assuming that something far more drastic should happen in addition to just slow moving drift off into nothingness.

Perhaps the Halos were designed to retreat into isolated parts of the galaxy after firing so that sentient races would not be likely to discover them.

Most likely. hmmm...I wonder why they didn't have a self destruction devise after they fired. Then there wouldn't be this problem. But without, then the story would be killed - Covenant wouldn't desire the Forerunner which would ruin their religion (I think) and then have never attacked Humanity.

The Halo's probably don't self destruct so they can be used repeatedly. The Flood did end up coming back after all..

This is at the point of view of a rampant Cortana, every event depicted in the episode shouldn't be trusted.Frankie said this himsefl.

BTW Halo Legends is canon, and didn't even destroyed Halo canon like some guys claim.

GROSSMAN: Do you think of the Culture as a utopia? Would you live in it, if you could?

BANKS: Good grief yes, to both! What's not to like? ...Well, unless you're actually a fascist or a power junkie or sincerely believe that money rather than happiness is what really matters in life. And even people with those bizarre beliefs are catered for in the Culture, albeit in extreme-immersion VR environments.

KOTOR

Yeah, space is vast. Finding a ring in space would be monstrously hard with sensors, as you would have to be facing one of the "flat sides" i.e. you couldn't be looking through it with your sensors, as they'd more than likely miss it. Plus it might be directly in front of a planet, meaning that any readings you get would be merged with the planet's.

But about Eayn. I'm going with a combination of Stellar drift and a cycle of extinction and re-evolution.

This. It seems absurd that all the rings would be so close to each other. All of them were near Covenant species home world if my memory serves. That would mean they were inside a radius of something like 10,000 light years when they should be scattered in perfect formation around the galaxy 22,440 light years from each other.

Or perhaps something similar could have occured to it, just like the Mu Mass Relay in Mass Effect that linked to Ilos. It was blown off it´s regular orbit a detonation of a super nova.

Perhaps something similar happend to this one? Or perhaps it was destroyed, and the reenplacement made in Ark was placed somewhere else?

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

It's likely symbolism based off the artistic interpretation of events, it's what symbolises the religion of the COvenant and what holds them together rather than the Ring literally appearing in front of Eayn, Sanghelios, Doisac etc.

Hmmm, that could be very possible.

Eaxctly, it is not a factual representation of the actual locations for the rings. Don't take it so literal.

The Forerunners wanted humanity to inherit everything they left behind. If Medicant Bias' mind set is any indication, it would seem the Forerunners could've left the Rings behind as an apology and challenge. Basically saying "do not make the same mistakes we made" to humanity. The Halos are a monument to all of there sins. (Gotta love Gravemind)

What I find interesting is what will we do with the Rings now that the war is over?

I be gone into the depts of abyss. I'm leaving Bungie.net. Sorry.

The 'ring' itself was there all along, however, over the millenia, a small candid group of Lekgolo worms devoured it. Leaving specks of evidence and 'glory' of the Forerunners to the Covenant... How sad.

"But this ring, is MINE!"

  • 04.02.2011 9:03 AM PDT

the forerunners probably put the halos so close to planets to be sure that all life and flood on those planets would be taken out then to make sure no one would find the halos and fire them the halos then moved to new parts of the galaxy or when the repopulating began all species were moved to new planets away from the halos
