does a router slow down internet speed? because i had my computer hooked up to a router and i tested the speed of it a internetfrog.com and it said i had about a 300kbps and now my router's ethernet is messed up so im hooked direcly to my modem and i tested my speed again and i got 2.44mbps. here is a picture and i was just wondering if my router was the reason why but i think thats wierd because my router has speedbooster.

No no. the 300 kbs number is your upload speed. That is the speed that you can send info to the internet. Your download speed is 2.44 MBs thats the speed at which you can pull information from the internet. Both those numbers are normal for a cable connection. Thats why you can only host a few players on personal computers at home. Your server can only send 300 kbs to the players.
