Subject: A theory about the simplifying of games and gametypes *PLEASE READ*

I previously posted this on the Reach forum and got very little if any response so i thought it was in the wrong forum, so here you go Seventh Column!

I was looking around on the Reach forum and started a thread about people who only kill in games like hockey and haloball extreme,I commented on a few similar threads and got a reply on a comment from one {rejected1s}, i think thats how it was spelled, but i got to thinking about this subject and came to this conclusion. Games and gametypes (not specifically in Halo alone) are getting chopped up and slimmed down to one simple concept, KILL OR BE KILLED, and with strange ranking and reward systems to support those mentalities, people just want to kill each other, take for example (some might see it as unrelated to this genre or forum in general) games like GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption if you were to go online and play in free roam or whatever it's called, you would come across(my rough estimate would be anywhere from 40%-60% of players) would hoard all the weapons and ammunition they could find then hunt out the largest concentration of (enemy) players and proceed to repeatedly kill and spawn camp them. Now i know that someone will say that you could just kill them, or play red dead's friendly mode and that is a solution to the problem somewhat, but this happening elsewhere also. A no-brainer would be Call of Duty and it's system of constant rewarding you for simple things like running so many miles or capturing so many objectives and so on, just things that shouldn't require that kind of motivation to accomplish. Now there are A LOT of other games where this is happening but i don't want to make this any longer than it has to be, and i feel that i shouldn't have to explain it in that amount of detail to you. So in a nutshell, my point is that games are being geared more towards pick-up-and-go and run-and-gun styles of gameplay, ever-growing fan-bases and for lack of a better term "casuals" (I really, really dislike using that term) who are causing developers to make games simpler and making them require less effort to "get-into" and consistently play. Now I already, as i am writing this, foresee a lot of people calling me a troll or saying that i have a low understanding of the games i'm referencing, or even going as far to say that i'm "anti-bungie" or "anti-game" all of which is completely false. I often play the games that i referenced in this "article" and I am a fan of the developers. I just don't want to see this become a mainstay in the industry or evolve beyond a trend (or become one if i am over-stating my opinion and reasoning) and i would like to see my fellow players and Seventh Column members give their thoughts on this topic.
*DISCLAIMER*
I am not a troll or "anti-bungie" as i stated in this article "I come in peace" so please, keep the comments somewhat formal, thanks! Also if anyone would like to discuss this topic further I would be glad too! My gamertag is ORbMandalore and I regularly play mostly on the weekends. NOTE: this is not a secret scheme to make friends, i have plenty of those. lol

EDIT:Also, wrong forum. This belongs in the Reach Forums. This forum is for discussing canon, not gameplay.

No company that uses terms like, head-to-head, man-on-man, action-sack, and mancannon is homophobic.
I supposed that teabagging is.... what, a representation of a new form of colonoscopy?

It makes sense, we all want instant gratification for everything these days.

Anyways, you'll probably get a better response if you break up your post into paragraphs and separate them with a blank line. It will make it easier on the eyes for us.

Also, this should technically go in The Flood since you're talking about games in general, not just Reach.
