my map would be a city, something mentioned a lot, with really tall buildings that you could go into, use the elevator to go to the top floor, and snipe through the windows. if you could look through every window everyone would be lookin at all the windows and goin HUH. oh yeah and there would be banshees and anything else you an fly on the roofs. and after a lot of shooting you could blow up the buildings

have you noticed that the majority of all these maps ideas are all only slight variations of 4 types of the same map?
Not saying there bad ideas or i could think of a better one but makes you think how much effort it takes for the bungie guys to think of the brilliant selection of equally amazing and varied maps they have already made and are making doesn't it.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

Two words Helms Deep!!! that would the baddest recreation of all time where the spartans defend on the long castle wall and the elites have to raid the castle wall and break through it or blow up the weak point of the wall. the just like in Helms Deep the Spartans have to protect the VIP. The elites have tanks and and ghosts and all the other weapons and rush the defenses and thier objective is to kill the VIP. And if they reach the VIP we ride out in warthogs and run the elites over juss like in the movie but instead of Horses its warthogs that would soo badass LOL but thats juss my opinion.

I think that would be a sweet idea. You would have to have tons of turrets along the walls and stuff, especially on the deepining wall and tons of sniiping shiznit and grenades. it would be for like 40 players and you would have 16 defending and like 24 attacking but the attackers would get like 100 comp elites. that would be awsome.

Wats wrong with that- most of the simplest maps are the best. i would base mi map on blood gulch-same size and shape, but aswell as the current bases i would have the timberland bases and pathways ALL the way from one end to another at the sides

4 forts with 2 turrets each and a door that can open like in the video
big map supporting any vicicle* and has some water for warthogs to go over and a bride that can be lowered and then distroyed if its shoot too much in the middle of the map
a fort per corner of the map each fort has a warthog and shee

I'd make an all-indoor level... but it would be BIG. It would be shaped like a giant box. There would be several vertical levels to it, sort of like the spaceship level only no open space in the middle. However, the only way to get up to the next higher level would be to use banshees. Each level would be designed to allow the banshee to act as an elevator but go no further.

I'd make a couple more levels similar to Infinity, with variations and maybe one with tanks in the middle. (Only the middle - you'd have to jump down or take a one-way teleporter to reach the tank arena.)

I'd name one level, "Power station" and it would consist of two large floating (ala Tribes/Tribes2) bases with three or four levels of "power lines" between them, just wide enough to walk or land a banshee on. Sniper rifles would be present. Banshee landing areas would be protected by the new turrets but situated where they wouldn't have a clear shot at the middle area.

I'd make at least one level where part of it was underwater. Yes, you don't drown. It's just to be different. Maybe a half-sunken base or something. Health and invis submerged, weapons and overshield dry.

I'd make an airport/spaceport level, with runways, hangars, passenger areas, etc. One team defends it, the other team assaults it.

Halo Multiplayer levels all seem to have a little bit of symmetry, a little bit of asymmetry, multiple paths to the flag, multiple places to attack from and defend against. I could type ideas all day.

URBAN COMBAT:

My ideal multiplayer map would be an urban battleground, complete with buildings, roads, turrets, and lots of vehicles. There would be street fighting, corner to corner, ducking behind cars and demolished buildings. Snipers will have the greatest advantage, firing from windows of buildings, like the movie "Enemy at the Gates"! Oh, and the walls of buildings can be blown up to flush out snipers. Keep your head down.

BOARDING ACTION:

Another multiplayer map will be of either a Convenant or human ship. The opposing team will try to board the ship, and the defenders must fight off the attackers. In the CTF version, the boarding party will have to fight their way to the bridge, take the flag, and return it to one of their boarding craft to score. The ship will have spawning points at airlocks, like the ones from the level POA in Halo, an armery, engine rooms, maintenance crawl spaces, control center, and a cafateria. A vending machine would be nice too...

Halo 2 should HAS to have a jungle level, similar to the level outside of where u first meet the flood except more lush. A jungle level is very likely seeing how there are plans to make a jungle warthog.

I would make a level in space. There would be 2 big ships with armories and turrets and stuff. Both teams get a hangar with like 20 banshees that respawn. Inside each base there would be a lot of good fighting spots like a room with a bunch of boxes and stuff. It would be mainly for capture the flag. When you start you go load up in the armory than either defend the base or get a banshee. Than you land in there hangar after many dogfights and move on foot to get the flag. The hard part is getting out.

what about a map roughly double the size of blood gulch... there would be 4 teams rather then just red vs blue.. for example red vs. blue vs. brown vs. yellow??? imagine a 4 team CTF!

or even perhaps a two team stealth map... one team could try to infiltrate the other teams base and then reach an extraction point... and at night, night maps are always fun... but i guess a map like this would be too much like splinter cell?

A prison level... on a futuristic prison space station, lost of guard towers for snipers, coartyards, cellblocks, and all that other good stuff you see in prison movies. and this would have massive battles (hopin there will be ais) were you can have a teem of troops defend your flag while you and your real companions charge the other side of the prison!

insanely large with many hiding places and sniper towers. Aboot as large as the 3 canyons in AOTCR combined then squared. Jungle tile with aboot 30 players on each team. A new mininuke weapon that can be remote controlled up to a certain points. Although, you may be able to shoot it down with precise high powered rounds. Two humongous bases on each end with aboot 3 levels on both would kick some major tail. There would also be multiple chokepoints in this level with weapons located in them. The warthog and possibly the new shadow would be in this map as with the other vehicles also the Wraith would be a new vehicle, and would cetainly kick serious tail. The teams would be made up of SPARTANS and Elites. Assault mode would have 2 teams and any other team mode will have 3. free-for-all mode will be able to support 60 players on Live and 32 on a LAN, but probably not a good idea.

the miniature halo idea does kick some major tail and i have to give some props to that idea

all this talk of ships gives me an idea. to get through certian areas of the ship,you would have to either pass through air locks or those things in the halo 2 preview whenre MC vents the atmosphere. there would also be rooms were you could either see inside the airlock with a screen, or you would be above it on a balcony. in therooms there would be a switch/button that would vent all the atmosphere and depending if one side opened into space or not, the occupants of the room would die and fly out into space.

alright, assuming halo 2 has 4 team matches ( i wonder how 4 team ctf would work?) heres my idea, imagine a level like longest, a corridor with lots of hiding spots or whatever, stacked on itself 4 times, with 3 teleporters to get to any of the three other bases corridors.
If anyone has played any good ctf matches on chiron you can imagine the tenseness of dashing portal to portal trying to lose someone on your tail.

well, if you needed teleporters to get to each level, you could not tell, nor could you care that they are stacked. i like the idea, but i think there should be like 4 seperate flag rooms. oh and btw, awesome name

Imagine... like on the two betrayals after you blow the first pulse generator. then you must go to the bridge below... On that bridge keep it the same but make the doors on both sides lead to the other persons flag... Maybe a couple of banshees.. but not used for carrying the flag. You have a choice to take the ground below the bridge into the enemies fortress... take the elevator up grab the flag... run to the bridge ... toss it off the bridge to a fellow team mate. he catches it .. returns to his base while avoiding banshess, rockets, and sniper rounds from above. he rushes through the door and takes the elevator to the flag. while your team has a last stand with enemies so you can score..... Or you could try the Dead ahead Aproach... just fight your way across the bridge grab the flag and run back while a banshee along with a sniper covers you...
The name of the level would be "Dead Ahead"

it's in space. 4-6 multilevel platforms (think 3-d chess like). the levels have transparent floors, and ceilings in most places and solid walls with various random openings. small cramped maze like tunnels connect all but one of the platforms. the last platform is reachable only by teleportation, but it the largest and is the fastest way from one platform to another (who is man enough to venture into the tunnels???) each platform is like an upturned pyramid with the bottom third chopped off. the bottom floor is set up hang 'em high style (ramps to other floors, pylons to hide behind, etc.) the 3-4 upper floors are arranged around the perimeter so that the opening in the middle of each floor is ever increasing until one reaches the top ('roof') and then a view of never ending space. elevators will scale two of the walls of each platform to take one from bottom to the top floor and then back. i love the idea of having transparent floors so that it is hard to hide anywhere except for maybe in the tunnels connecting each platform... no vehicles, some wide open spaces, some cramped spaces, and everyone is in view if not immediately killable. what do you think???

I would make a huge valley with hills on either side and have the bases on the hills, and in the valley have a huge forest, i reckon that would be sick!
