Hmmm.. A lot of good ideas but personally I am fed up of running into an enemy base and it is always a complete Blood Bath and nobody ever get the flag. I'd like different ways in and bigger bases. Perhaps tunnels in and as has been said before destructable scenery. I also think jungle maps would be good. I also think maps with objectives similar to those in the game but quicker and more fun for multiplayer. For example one game I've played a lot recently is Battlefield Vietnam which I like so much because of objectives and interesting ways of capturing Control Points. As for flying I think a map based in mid air which had floating platforms and flags which floated in mid air and could be grabbed whilst still on a banshee adding to spectaclur dogfights.

I would make a couple of maps just for the race gametype:
1st i would have a big circular dessert. a huge hill in the middle and the outside is all flat, vehicles would be: tanks, atvs, or a modified worthog; close to the ground, fast, and light.
2nd i would have a big zig-zaging winter area (like the halo pc one with the bridge), the vehicles would be: tanks, ghosts, the winter hog, or modified atvs; turned into snowmoibles.
And i would have a huge lake with cliffs all around, there would be a big rock piller with four pillered structures on top with ladders going up them, vehicles would be: banshees, modified tanks; hover pads instead of treads; or modified hogs; turned into boats.
they would be 2-8 player maps only avilable for race and the vehicles would have no guns! It would be strictly clean racing, i mean, you can bump eachother but that's it.

For me personally the best map would be like a untouched quiet suburb, that gets ripped up during the fighting . It need a fair number of houses (preferably with a warthog in the garage) and a small park as well as any other cliche suburb stuff you can think of. Cover would be provided by the impending destruction caused by the fighting.

i like this idea but i say it would be blood glutch except a wholelot bigger with banshes, pelicans and all the other vehicles, hidden caves big rocks you can get on to snipe people off and huge i mean huge toweres like the one on lord of the rings to snipe people off and ever time you kill your enemy a bot comes in and helps them but the bots are like hunters not hard but not to easy

Hmmm, reach would be good.
something with trees where you can climb up in them and snipe.....but then the SkyHawk comes down blasts you with the quad cannons, then sends the scorpian missles at you
that would be sweet,,, if the trees blew apart.
but so far from the mp videos that hell on earth video looks kool

Good Job

See... the thing to do would be to make one moderately large fortress that could be defended by eight guys. You put in big walls, turrets, and a big sniper keep in the middle. Add a couple of switch gates like in Zanzabar, support vehicles, and play some 16p aussault like in Time Splitters 2. Wow.

Here's an Idea: Mountain tops. A mountain for each team, with other mountains in the middle for powerups, crossing the map, and the like. Bridges of different size too: some for Warthogs, some for Scorpions, and some for Foot only. Differing Elevations, and Summits for sniping opportunities (but for all those Sniper Haters out there, plenty of cover to run to).

Whaddya think?

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

I would have mine be a human level like the one in E3 all metal-like, not many plants but lots of signs and phone booths and other objects you can think of that would go in place with this. I would have two large bases with like 3 stories on each one (an assult map) and large buildings that you could go into and get sniping posts. Also, each base would have a large garage with a door that opened for friendlies only (unless the enemies blew the gate down, but the gate would be able take a lot of damage before collapsing) and it would have two floors with a lift going between them. The covie vehicles on top and human ones on bottom. on top of each large bast there would be another two story tower big enough for about one sniper (two youd probably end up shooting each other turning to track someone) with a lift going to the top & also all the other floors in the bases. Between bases there would be boulders % assorted objects just waiting to be destroyed.

There should be a balance between sniping and straight out fighting. 2 much sniping would not be fun.

The map should be kink of like D-day. You would have a defending teem with machine guns and artilery defending. The attacking team would have a boats and would also get banshees. To put it simply to islands with no way acrosss except by boat. Or maybe connected only by a small bridge. That would be pretty cool.

This isn't that creative, but I'd like to see a board that is just one big room with shotguns & grenades. Rat Race is the closest thing. You can easily find yourself respawning right in the middle of a crossfire.

That very early sphere map would be pretty funny, but im-frigging-possibly hard too, i mean if you were just killed by someone and then there are like at least 3 more nutcases out there, it'd be hard to find a way to start of again, like, you could respawn anywhere in the field, but where would the guns be, and could you get to them....

(nice idea though, very original, just a really really wierd twist!)

I dont think you could make a level very well, by the fact that every other game that has that option has generic square rooms, blocks, and uninteresting pieces to place... (Timesplitters 2 anyone....)

Imagine this: HUGE. Almost bigger than Blood Gulch + Sidewinder. Two monstrous bases in opposite corners (kind of a rectangular map). In these will be garages/hangars for vehicles of all sorts. A couple of armories. One tall tower with the flag on it. Plenty of mounted guns (if possible), or places from which to snipe/hold off enemies with other big gun. This whole thing surrounded by a large wall with battlements and more mounted guns.

In the center is a plateau you can only access from a few areas like ramps. The plateau will be separated into two large clumps with a thin strip in the middle (kind of like a figure eight sticking out of the ground). These are two more bases for each team, but this is where the flags start, and the idea is to get them to the more defended base in the corners. There are buildings and mounted guns in this area as well.

In the corners not occupied by bases will be a series of mountains/plateaus/hills with various equipment and small bunker. All the area in between these key areas is filled with tall grass, shrubs, and rocks. From each of the larger bases will extend a network of underground tunnels the pop up in the middle of the fields behind rocks and bushes--but not into the center bases.

BTW, excellent idea with the spherical gravity.

One of my favorite ideas is a huge canyon level(somewhat like blood gulch only bigger as well as taller) the entire floor is covered with huge tumbled boulders and smaller boulders making the floor a gigantic maze for infantry to wander through and ambush each other. A single road would wind back and forth among the boulders providing the only area vehicles could reach. The bases would be at opposite ends of the canyon built into the walls and be several stories tall, with the top being a landing platform for aerial vehicles. Teleportals in the bases would lead to a large bridge that crosses the middle of the level and offers several more teleportals that jump you to spots among the boulders. It would be night time and the moon and stars would be out, providing faint illumination at the top of the bases, the bridge and the road, but the boulder area would be near pitch black with very scattered light sources. Requiring infantry to use their flashlights or sneak around half blind, or travel with a vehicle escort along the road(the vehicles would have flood lamps).

I agree with Sarg on the D-Day level. Another good level would be like the Band of brothers episode in Bastogne where there was a shell pocked ground separating the Germans and the Americans with their positions in the black forest. It would be just like that except takes more of a blood gulch look except in the night with snow. it would 2000 meters wide and 4000 meters long. there would be a giant base on each side with 2 floors each having 2 or 3 machine gun emplacements on the second floor. with a stairway leading to the very top having banshees on top. the first floor would be where you could get the flag and then there would be a basement with Warthogs. The black forests (or something like it) would be covering the front of each base having shotguns and smg's set on the ground beside the trees and in the shell pocked 38th parrallelisk type of land there would be two giant pillars with portals and ont of the gigantic pillars would be rocket launcher and sniper and on the other pillar a fuel rod and sniper. about 80 meters left of each pillar would be either an overshield or a stealth.

Yea I really like the sphere idea. It would be kinda cool in it to half less grav so you can jump like 3x as high as you can or 2x and have another sphere in the mid and if you landed on it your grav your shift to that spohere and from there you can jump to the other side of the sphere. if that makes ANY sense

I would have a map with a big pit in the middle of it and as many bases around the out side as there r players(or if u r playing ctf then up to 4) and these bases look like sidewinder only with a without the transporter with a extended platform and on these plat forms there r banshees (and if u r playing ctf there would be as many as there r people on the team) that respond wane they die

in halo2 there shod be a make you’re on map
and if somebody stool this idea I made it up after the first time I got in a banshee and I and I got my game a month after it came out and I beat the game in 3 weeks

If I could design my own map, it would be on a huge mountain with ramps going around it and tunnels going through it, and a view of the whole thing from the top of the mountain... that would be awesome.
