Half the replies in this thread fail, miserably.
Operation Chastity is a fan-made Halo film. It's not photoshop, and it's not a scam. I know that Peter Cooper, the project lead, along with his crew, have put a mind-numbing amount of work into this project.
"Huurrrr! WE ARE ODST and LANDFALL looked better." That may be so, but there's one huge point you need to keep in mind: those shorts were officially commissioned projects serving as marketing for Halo: ODST and Halo 3.
In short, they had a respectable budget. I've been told the cast and crew of OC are operating solely off their own personal finances and donations. I'm not going to take a guess at how much they've raised, but given that a studio-financed Halo movie would need a significant budget to do it right (tons and tons of SFX). Judging by the photos available on the Operation Chastity website, they're doing great with what they have.
If you truly want a full-scale, big-budget Halo movie in the foreseeable future, then you should probably be hoping that Operation Chastity is a success. The popularity and success of a project such as this could play a significant role in convincing Hollywood that a Halo movie is marketable, can be done without a $150 million budget, and overall worth producing.
Do us proud, Pete!
I couldn't have put it better myself. I'm just thinking about putting up an info. thread covering the whole film; with an FAQ. Should I do that?
