almost all the new games have vsync, or some way to limit framerates. If you cant find it, the only way to fix it will be to get a better monitor.

you get frame tearing when the refresh rate of the monitor is lower than the current framerate>>

to fix, what vsync does is make the framerate in the game never exceed the refresh rate of the monitor

if youre pumping 250 fps, then you need 250+ hz refresh to not get frame tearing. if you want to get rid of it, increase your refresh rate. if your monitor cant go any higher, turn on vsync. thats all i can say

What the -blam!- do you mean "you can't afford 60 fps"? I think anything above 60 fps is just a goddamn waste. My fps drops down to 20 sometimes in Battlefield 2, so consider yourself lucky.

Just enable vsync, and take the 60 fps like a man!

There's not a noticable difference between 60 fps and higher.

There isnt a noticable difference between 30 and higher. Your mind interperates fluid motion when you see 27 (I think) frames persecond. You don't want just 30 fps though, cause you will get different stress levels, so 40 is about the level you need to keep it smooth.

also.. if a game doesn't have the choice of putting vsync to on.. you can always go directly the card properties (usually desktop properties> settings> advanced> and somewhere in there... depending on what kind of card you're using... there should a three-part option.. 'yes', 'no', 'application controlled' ... put it to 'yes'.).

well hte 6800GS isnt that great of a card to begin with. I mean its really nice, but nothing compared to the 7800GTX's or x1900xt

Heyyo,

Yeah, turn on vsync. If ya really think anything higher than 60F/S is needed you need to learn how the eye works. But it is true, a higher refresh rate is healthier for the eyes, so if possible yes set it to 75Hz or higher if you can. Otherwise? vsync.
