No, just someone who doesn't care about pointless things and thus won't die of a stress induced aneurism.

Everything is ultimately pointless since we're all going to die eventually.

However, something can't be pointless if you are enjoying yourself while participating in the aforementioned, allegedly pointless activity, IMO.

Not the entity as whole, but elements of it.

Dude, your idea of enjoyment is getting wasted with your friends every weekend. that's cool, but please understand that enjoyment is subjective, and don't condemn various forms of it as inferior to anything else. people can live the way they want and enjoy themselves as they please, and if they are successfully doing so, they aren't living a pointless life.

lol theres more to life than drinking as well! its about experience!

travelling, seeing the world, trying new things!

heres one of my most favourite quotes:

Life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself.

Well, think of it like this:

If you are lying on your deathbed, what do you want to see when you look back on your life? Do you want to see yourself travelling the world, having amazing experiences that made you the person you would then be? Or do you want to see the days you spent playing Halo, sitting at home and doing it for hours on end for a number in that game?
In your mind, what memories would you rather die with?

Don't want to be cocky or anything, but I feel this guy totally deserves his 50 after such a long time of seemingly endless hope, especially because it only gets harder with more and more exp on your <50 skill levels :p

If you had based your first comment on this, would it really have been valid? Or would that fall under the habitual speech of a "top-tier" Halo player?

life is about doing what you want to do. or else what is the point of living? If I wanted to play Halo for the rest of my life, than so be it. I'd die knowing I did what I wanted to do.

That's all well and good. No one is denying you that.

However, there are far more exciting things to be doing. That's all I'm saying. Halo is fun, but it's not the funnest thing in the world, and that's not even close to being subjective, it's pure fact.

There are different kinds of fun, so you're wrong.

Example 1:

You're playing halo and kicking ass

You're going down a massive roller coaster and screaming your face off.

Some small analysis for you guys:

People play video games continuously for long periods of time, for years where-as going on a roller coaster is rarer, thus there is more attraction to doing those types of "fun" activities (this can actually be attributed to economics and the law of diminishing marginal utility). So to go even further in this analysis, it's quite easy to understand that the only reason people say that there are "many more fun things in life than playing video games" is because they've already had so much experience with video games, yet only so little in comparison with other fun activities like riding roller coasters.

So basically, if you road roller coasters for 5 hours a day for 2 years straight, you'd then be saying: "omg there are so many other things that are so much more fun than going on a roller coaster, and that's not even close to being subjective, it's pure fact!."

I guess I was being a bit too broad with my example. Sorry folks

I did some small analysis for your pea-sized brain. . . just so you don't have to sigh. Take a deep breath, it's alright. Sometimes people just don't know these things!

Note: the analysis is in my original post. It has been edited.

I don't believe you.

If you are staring death in the eye, and you know that all you have, all you ever had, possibly the only chance you will ever get at ANYTHING is about to end, would you really be content with what you did with your life?

I'm presuming most people who know they are about to die will feel regret. Regret for the sights they never saw, the moments they never shared, the goals they never achieved.
Most of all, the chances they never took.

Life is not always about doing what you want to do. It is about pushing yourself as far as you can go, beyond your comfort zone. Because those are the moments when you truly feel alive. Those are the moments you will remember, and they define who you are.

Life is about discovery, and a sense of purpose.

Nothing that makes life worthwhile can be found playing a videogame.

no. nonono

When I first got Halo I only played Lone Wolves. I was terrible, yet I still managed to get to lvl 34. I haven't played it since then but I heard that there aren't that many people in that playlist anymore.

It's pretty time consuming, but definitely not the hardest, just spam nades and steal kills (yep, be a noob.)

He didnt say that applied to him though...

He said IF he wanted to do nothing but play halo for the rest of his life, and died doing so then he lived full life in his mind.

Clearly he doesnt feel this way, but its a valid point non the less
