Subject: Heroic Library help!

Hi all I picked up Halo CE on xbox awhile back and completed it on normal fairly easily when I got it, now its been a while but I remember a part which I am at now, where Guilty Spark brings you to a Flood infested Library.
Is it much harder on Heroic? What came before feels like it is. I have Shotty Magnum combo is this a good choice?
Any tips are appreciated thanks.

Not that much. Covenant scale with difficulty far more than Flood do, which is why the earlier levels are much harder than on normal.

Probably the best. The shotty chews up flood at close range quite well, and the pistol is all-round effective for this level.

Plasma weapons can also work well against the flood, though you should avoid the plasma pistol if you aren't able to fire both very fast and very controlled simultaneously.

Avoid the needler, though; it's sluggish and unreliable against Flood.

Also, consider ditching your assault rifle; they're not as effective against flood as many people think they are.

Any tips are appreciated thanks.
Do not approach Flood in the same way that you approach Covenant. Use cover when needed, but if you are in danger of being swarmed, consider treating combat as more of a dance than anything else. Basically, here's how that works:

Flood sometimes kill you through both sheild recharge suppression and caging in of the player. To avoid being caged, dodge around and about groups of Flood in such a way that they have a difficult time striking you and cannot surround you. To avoid slow lowering of shield and health, watch out for (and jump over, whatever) popcorn flood. Combine these two concepts in complex maneuvres while shooting nearby Flood.

To assist in outmaneuvering the Flood, don't forget that you can do things like jump over pits and onto those sloping platforms to slow them down and whatnot.

Also, go into this level with a good, confident mindset. The level is more intimidating than it is difficult, and if you can sink into it, it's great fun. Here's a confidence boost if you need it.

Tupolev, your advice is needlessly drawn out and over-detailed.

The only advice you really need: Don't get killed.

Here's my tip. Keep the shotgun the entire level. It will say you so much. Also, try to find the rockets, swap the pistol for them. Then, pray to your god that he lets you live. Then do it on legendary.

If you play the level enough you'll notice where the spawn triggers are. Walk forward just enough to make them start jumping out, then run backwards and gun them down. Avoid being surrounded whenever possible, and hide. There is on part of the level when the door in front of you and behind you are closed and there are two places where the flood jump out. It's very difficult to complete this without hiding, as they respawn constantly, but you can stay out of site and wait for say 5 minutes before the doors open again and a bunch of sentinels are there to help you out.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Even on legendary if you have a shotgun and are halfway decent at moving and shooting you can almost steamroll your way through the whole damn thing. The only areas that really present difficulty are the areas where you need to wait for Spark, and even then some good strafing and shotgun work will keep you healthy.

when the time comes, keep a rocket in your back pocket. It will help in the deeper parts when spark ditches you to activate a door. And also, the last part (run to the elevator) could use a rocket.

The only reason I didn't hold on to the rocket was that they don't give you adequate ammo for it to be practical. I've always found it easier with the shotty/pistol combo.

Yeah, TRIX has the right here. When you have so many enemies, it makes no sense to limit yourself to basically one weapon to save a couple rockets for some tough areas, where grenades and good aim are more than good enough.
