"Ignorance is a plague."

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

Tom, Lucy, and the other III's were very much worthy of the title, "Spartan."

As for Noble Team, they might just be the absolute worst Spartan's in Halo canon...

Why would they be the worst Spartans in Halo canon?

They aren't the worst Spartans in Halo canon because of skill, they are the worst Spartans in Halo canon because they were bad characters.

They are the worst because they cannot understand the difference between a sniper rifle and a shotgun.

Seriously though, the Spartand IIIs are nearly as good, they just do not have the same armour.

That's just an A.I. error.

Being a commando requires training in everything. Therefore, as a commando, i am authorized in the use of many weapons, from shotguns, to sniper rifles, to even conevant weapons. As a commando, i is my duty....to kick the covenants ass. And i do this very well.

OF COURSE THEY ARE!

Honestly, i would love to play a Spartan-III in one game. It would be epic!

Hey, i wonder, you think if we look deep enough in Bungie Records we will find some Spartan-IVs?

On another note, why did we not see any Armor Abilities or Grenade Launchers in other places? They were kick ass.... And what idiot replaced the DMR with the BR?

So yes, they are....

You play as a Spartan III in Reach....

DMR was outdated and had already been replaced by the BR in every military branch but the Army.

Armor Abilities were lost in Reach after it was attacked, same with the grenade launcher.

Are those your reasons or are they facts?

Are remember it being said that the DMR was the army version of the BR, AA were experimental tech, Nothing was ever said about the grenade launcher.

Although it saw more widespread use throughout all branches of the UNSC prior to 2548, it had since been superseded in use by the BR55 Battle Rifle in all military branches of the UNSCDF but the Army.

The Armor abilities like I said, were lost with Reach, Reach was the powerhouse of the UNSC when it came to technology and military, so it's only logical to have the prototypes being tested there.

The grenade launcher could not have been in the other Halo games cause the other Halo games make you fight alongside the Navy and the Grenade Launcher is an Army weapon.

I agree 100% soooo much.

It's just too noticeable to simply put under the rug.

The way Nylund depicted the Spartan-II in the Fall Of Reach and the Spartan-III in the Ghost of Onyx in contrast to Noble Team just shows significant amounts of neglect by Bungie.

You have Professional Soldiers who were trained to the Bone to be the perfect soldier, following orders, being steps ahead, being in top physical and mental shape etc etc.I can just describe one scene

In this scene:

Jun:
His chatty nature shows lack of self restraint. Verbal discontent over the use of the word "imminent".Brings in negative atmosphere, useless input and decrease morale.
Betting with Jorge if Carter would listen to Kat?
Then questioning why Kat always has Carter in the Know?
A No-Brainer.
An example of lack of intellect.

Carter:
His inability to even contemplate where Kat was going with her plan. Negative Morale (Real Leader right.) Hesitation to even listen to her plan. "Fine, i'll hear it" WTF, what else are you gonna do ignore her and wait around doing nothing?
He doesn't see why Kat is bringing this up?
*GASP
He's surprised that the Leader of a group has to ask if he can authorizes the plan.

"There's no way in hell he's gonna go for this"
Next mission, Holland lets them execute the plan.

-_- great dialogging.

An example of lack of foresight and other things.

Jorge:
"What's going on?"
Ermm this is a bloody spec-op team, let alone a "Spartan" Team. Everyone keeps everyone in the team in the loop, you don't keep things out from each other. While he was standing around useless and chatting with Jun, he could of been part of the discussion.

Too bloody thoughtless.

Emile:
The mere fact that Emile has complete negligence towards a tiny thing called "Respect" shows detrimental signs. The way he reacts to Kat taking his kukri. They dumbed down his character so much to make him seem like an "alpha male" type figure, brawns over brains.

Too dumb!

Kat:
She's playing them all, Spartans are meant to be smart, she certainly outshines all of them.

She basically has to spell out her plan to everyone, draws a little picture in the sand and points out an obvious characteristic of a another team member.

Emile's reaction "You Scary!"

-_-

Apart from the way she died, i would say she's the most fitting as a Spartan. A bit patronizing a time but thats because Noble Team needs it.

I know this is just one section of the game, but it's stays true for the reminder of the game. This properly is an over analyzation but if you're gonna do something, do it right!

Especially when you have a Generation of Fans anticipating at "the story driven campaign"

Well the Headhunters were testing Active Camo in the field, not on Reach. Jet Packs were around. AAs didn't just disappear on reach. There would have been more pieces of each technology on other ships and worlds. And just because the Grenade Launcher wasn't in any of the other games doesn't mean it wasn't in use. The BR wasn't in CE but it still existed at the time, the AR wasn't in Halo 2 but it didn't cease to exist. Just because the Army use the GL doesn't mean the Navy were not allowed.

Marine: "I might take a grenade launcher on this op."

Trooper: "No. That's ours, get your own".

Yes. Although I have a lot more respect for the Spartan-II's. I don't know why, but the Spartan-III's just seem more baby-ish.
Eh, they're given less training and less gear. You see them less in battle. I can understand why you'd think that.

Less, but better training and worse gear.

Give Spartan III's Mark IV armor when they were sent on the missions and you'd have massively different results. Send 300 Spartan IIs on that mission in SPI, and they'll be wiped out.

You were totally and absolutely correct in every way, I don't know why we were arguing, you're so amazing I should never have doubted you.

Spartan-IIs died in combat also. They're not worthy of the title Master Chief John-117, but that's another story.

Spartan IIIs are worthy.

  • 04.06.2011 3:42 PM PDT

Their missions were essential in the Human-Covy War, they were just under the shadaow of Spartan IIs because of their expendability and lack of MJOLNIR armor. Moreover, Spartan IIs cannot be everywhere.

The only people who considered them expendable was the high command.

100% disagree. I won't deny that Tom and Lucy are good, they are true Spartans through and through. Our history with Noble Team is brief, who knows the kind of action and operations they've seen. All I know is they kept Dr. Lazlo Sorvad's data from falling into Covenant hands, destroyed a Supercarrier, got numerous civilians off planet, protected Dr. Halsey, and ultimately sacrificed themselves so The Pillar of Autumn could escape.

But oh no, they died on Reach, they are horrible. /sarcasm

RED BRICK STUDIOS!

Yes. Spartan III's were only second to the Spartan IIs.

They accomplished missions that would have been difficult if not impossible for average soldiers, or even ODST's.

Noble Six has already proved to be more effective than at least 99,999% of the all Spartan-IIs.

To ninjakenzen

Carter didn't say "No way in hell Holland will go for this." That would be Emile.

Jorge, that's hardly keeping them out of the loop. It's called a plan was created and then when the others went he asked what the plan of action was. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

Kat pointed out something NOBODY else knew about Six. His history with the Saber program. She didn't spell out the plan like you would to a baby. She explained it so everybody in the squad knew. I fail to see how Six's history as a pilot was such a majorly clear trait, seeing how only Kat and carter read his file, and only Carter read all of it.

edit: As my brother told me, that cutscene is what would realistically happen to a squad after a botched mission.

Grenade laucher was also outdated and only used by the Army, it's the oldest UNSC weapon in any halo game.

The Spartan program was based on the stregth and courage of old age Spartans
Noble Team was, along with the headhunters, the bravest spartan team, they took several suicide missions without a second thought
