There are players who read the books, and players who dont
If you read Fall of reach, and you perfer that, thats priority canon
If you didnt and just played the games, thats canon
Narrative is Narrative, format dosnt matter
And who says they both can't exist? The events portrayed in the book can still occur. At worst, the context in which they happen changes. So some thinking is needed, but I don't remember when speculation became a bad thing.
to be honest the book halo reach and the game halo reach both can't happen at the same time.
In the game the PoA is on reach for whatever reason and waiting for a cortana fragment.
In the book PoA was nearly out of the system when the covenant attacked and cortana was on board along with the chief who wasn't in cryo.
In the game Reach didn't have a fleet whatsoever and ships had to be recalled from other systems.
In the book reach had a fleet of roughly 100-130 ships and dozens of orbiting support stations (non macs)
In the game reach has no Fleet, no MACS (don't give me that we didn't see them BS), no orbital stations of anytype, and called for other ships to come to the system for help.
In all honesty it is ether the book or the game with this one. and yes i know kat said something about the Macs, but we didn't say any on ether side of the planet.
About the MACs, aren't they in formation on one side of the planet though?
Im sure the "they were on the other side" would be there "a wizard did it"
Besides, sometimes minor plots devices can be added to a singular plot, i cant think of a good example, but one'll come to me soon so watch this space :p (though dont bother if its been 20 minutes, its 1am here and i was up at 7 >w<)
