Subject: Weird reference to Jun Perhaps?

Seriously Oak, Ive been doing this -blam!- for 16 years, gimmie my Friggen starter Pokemon and dont call me till im the champion! ¬_¬

So re-reading Fall of Reach (Took a day trip to manchester, Old Trafford, was epic but needed to kill 4 hours overall travel time) and i read the part about Halsey giving lil' chiefy a coin

Though the coin appears to be early UNSC currency, it seems to have an interesting description;

"On one side is a head of a man, the other side an eagle holding arrows"

Sound familier?

Whilst im rambling, a subtopic, did you notice any similarities between Chiefs team in FOR, and Noble team?

Quiet, withdrawn sniper - Linda + Jun
Big, sensitive type - Sam + Jorge
Creepy guy with Knivs - Fred + Emile
Tactical, snarky type - Kelly + Kat
Generic, military leader- Chief + Carter

Too much? :P

Do you think this is a plot device designed to have futher connotations within the narrative, a signifier to Jun's personality, or simply an overanalysed coincidence?

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

It's an American quarter.

And Jun is nothing close to quiet...so no.

Some can come away from reading "War and Peace" thinking it a simple adventure story, while others can read the ingredients on a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.

I assumed this too.

And I have no idea what your getting at with the quarter.

American Half Dollar would probably be more accurate.

"I may not be perfect, but always been true."

The quarter is an ancient coin, once used by the United States Government as part of its national currency, and much later acquired by Dr. Catherine Halsey as an antique. When testing a boy named John for his possible inclusion in the SPARTAN-II Program in 2517, she played a game with him to see if he could determine or affect on which side the quarter would land. When John succeeded, she judged that he was very capable or lucky, and he would be a good inclusion in the program.

Its the two sided part, one half is Clear, rounded and Regular, thus the "Heads"

Whilst the other half, the Eagle talons with arrows, "Tails"

A binary contrast within his apperence, and maybe a direct contrast to MC's Trademarked Luck?

Head Down/ Chin Up!

Well thinking about it, if you were to make a team of 5 soldiers for a movie/game/book, wouldnt you go along them lines of...

Knife guy
Sniper
Big fella (sometimes all about the explosives)
Tactical/Electronics
Generic Leader

I think the comparison between the 2 teams is nothing short of a stereotypical strike team needed for a storyline

See, that was my first reaction, But still i felt like they could have been more creative with it

I just get this feeling the earliest plans involved Reach with the original spartan squad we all know and love, and then they cut some corners to create the new team :P
