Eat my poop if you hate me!

All Hail the Flood

The only thing I actually wanted was an expanded friendlist. Original Xbox (more importantly Halo 2) was taken off life support almost a year ago now, and we still have nothing good. -blam!- you Microsoft.

I like Call of Duty and Gears of War, AND Halo. Why must everyone else like only one or the other?

Well, I have no link, but I don't remember MS promising an expanded friends list. But I do remember it being cited that one of the things MS could do if Live support was cutoff for the original xbox was expand the friends list. But I too would like to know where this major Live overhaul is that was supposedly impossible while original xbox Live was still on. (It's been a year now, surely MS could have done some of these things they claimed were impossible)

Halo 3

Yeah they are a bunch of @sswipes. Xbox original content probably didn't generate enough $$$ at the time to continue on live, making them lose some profit. So they were like: SCREW you guys, xbox is gonna get cut, suckazzzz!!!

Well they are only making 16B in profits each year, clearly a few hundred thousand is too much to lose.

They never promised an expanded friends list, they only said H2 was holding it back, as it was the only game people still played on original xbox live (and was dying). All they said was that there would be improvements, not an expanded list. But of course, in here, people take rumors and run with them.

Clearly you would not know how to run a business. Small things add up fast. A lot of small loans added up fast and caused a debt crisis and a recession. There's a reason why MS still supports XP, because more then 10 people use it.

Obviously you need to get a job and see how business really works in real life. If you run a business and support outdated stuff when most people have moved on, you will lose in the end.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

They lied, they cheated, they backstabbed us. We got screwed. Xbox live is still the same as it was when live support for the original xbox games was working. No improvement have been made in service or in matchmaking, we still run into the same problems as before. We still face against modders, hackers, lag fest matches, etc.

I don't see the improvement in service that Microsoft has promised us.

Yes I clearly do not know how to run a business and I am sure that they are making more money by dropping the old customers in exchange for new, younger ones.

This isn't a discussion of how M$ can best succeed though, it's more to state the obvious fact that M$ will always choose money over customer satisfaction.

As I said in above post, I never said MS promised that either. I'm not sure why you direct that at me?

Yes, exactly. And it has been a year now since support for original xbox games has been dumped. Where are these improvements that were impossible to do while Live still worked for original xbox games?

This is actually the stupidest thing ever posted on B.net:

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

Whoever needs 100+ friends on their friend list should be bashed over the head with an original Xbox.

I thought XP was on extended support.

But I agree, it's a business thing.

lol, I agree with you. You really don't need over a 100+ friends on your friend list. Your not gonna be playing with all of them at the same time and they will not all be in your party chat at the same time. Your not even gonna remember who 3/4s of the people on your friend list are, if its over 100+ people.

New voice codec. Banning modders is partly MS and partly the devs. MS blocks out n00b jtaggers, while the devs ban people who cheat in other ways from certain games.

Lagging is also the dev's responsibility. They can use bad netcode or use good netcode.

Oh, and here is a shocker: Guess what the real purpose of any business is: MAKING MONEY!

Pronounced "Nay-uss"

I still think MS could have introduced a separate subscription for Original LIVE, and offset losses from a small community with a slightly higher fee and very limited support. I'm sure those who want it would be willing to pay a little more for it...

MS had pretty much been doing that, with the under 1000 active Original Xbox users not being enough to support server maintenance. With the H2 outage before the shutdown, MS realized that keeping servers few people would play on would cost money. This was more then just H2, this was all original xbox games, with 99% of them being completely dead.
