Bungie is still on the Xbox. The PS3 will allow them to make more powerful games seeing as it has blu-ray and a more powerful processor.

This isn't actually true; someone on the Flood posted graphical statistics of both and a whole manner of stuff I couldn't even tell you. Point is, the 360's actually more powerful, its just that talented studios like Naughty Dog have found graphical workarounds.

Or something. Not sure, its been a while, but his proof seemed proof enough.

OT: It doesn't matter, Bungie wasn't always X-Box, they used to be PC gaming.

Alright, both of these aren't quite right. The 360 has a slightly more powerful GPU (fact), and it's architecture is very simple to develop for. The PS3 has an exceedingly more powerful CPU, complete with 7 SPE processing units. In a nutshell, if you can offload more strenuous tasks onto the CPU and these SPEs, it dramatically frees up the GPU, giving a tremendous graphical advantage to developers who utilize this with their engine.

Blu-ray does not improve anything on multiplatform titles because these games are developed with the more limited disk format in mind (360 DVD).

Blu-ray doesn't make a game better...

And you mean the processor that only has 1 core?
And the fact it's gpu is -blam!- compared to the 360's which itself is -blam!- compared to any mid-range gpu on pc's?

The PS3's GPU is only slightly less powerful than the 360's (in the grand scheme of things). However, the PS3's CPU is vastly more powerful when properly utilized, which gives the weaker GPU a distinct advantage. I have mentioned this above. As you said correctly though, blu-ray means nothing in this context.

As for Bungie developing on PS3 now... thank god. I've been an Xbox gamer since 2001, but Sony's console is quickly becoming the new place for hardcore gamers. After Reach, I had no reason to own an Xbox for things other than Alan Wake and Splinter Cell. That said, Splinter Cell will most likely not stay exclusive (Conviction is the only one so far to do this), and as much as I loved Alan Wake, I can live without one title.

People always use the argument that PSN is worse than Live, but coming from someone who doubted it (myself), trust me, it's not. Online performance is identical and free. It lacks a couple of features, like persistent party chat, but if you can live without this, you're good to go. More of the games have dedicated servers as well, which is a dream in comparison to stupid p2p connections.

I don't think that is true, Sony doesn't have alot of games with a story behind them. the only games i would want to play on PS3 are final fantasy, Resistance (story), Metal Gear (which is coming "back" to 360) and that is it.

I'll through in ratchet n clank, and killzone due to them being fun, but that is honestly it for sony

Your opinion on the games you'd like to play is fine, but the "lack of story" comment couldn't be further from the truth. As a matter of fact, it has more story-based games than 360 (it really does). I don't want to seam preachy and like I'm trying to "convert" anyone, but seriously if you research it's exclusive titles you'll see they are quickly becoming nothing short of amazing. They are also getting all the third-party titles now as well, like Mass Effect.

360 has won up until now with it's exclusive titles, but the back half of the game battle is already being won by PS3 by a mile. I'm with you though, Killzone doesn't hold a candle to Halo in my opinion. But with Bungie going multiplatform, what does Xbox have left to keep anyone like myself around? Gears 3 will be tight, but that's the end of that game franchise as well (and Epic has shown interest of wanting to put it on PS3). After that it has great third party support as always, but if you want it all, you have to go PS3 at this point on the console front.

I was the first guy in line to get an original Xbox in 2001 with my copy of Halo, and to this day I'd defend Xbox against PS2 as the better console. This generation though, it's not so clear and I'd almost go as far as to say that PS3 is the "Xbox" of last gen for gamers who care enough to take a look.

Seek and annoy

Okay, first, the whole "console war" thing is stupid.
Second, Bungie said a really long time ago they would love to branch out and develope games for other platforms.
Third, PS3 owners (the fanboy variety) do nothing but whine and -blam!--talk about how Xbox games suck and are garbage compared to [fill in the blank with almost any PS3 exclusive]. Having a longtime developer of an awesome Xbox exclusive series might convince them to try out another console.
In the end wouldn't it be a good thing if Bungie's PS3 dev team created something that brought more people over to the Xbox? How is it a bad thing?

my brother has a PS3 and most of the games he has are just 1 time games maybe 2.

So tell me games that the PS3 have that are story driven becuase 360 has halo(though not as much in the past), Mass effect, Fallout, etc

Command and conquer goes to both consoles though

I completely agree, it is stupid. I owned both for quite a while, and either one is a viable option. For me, I just have to defend the PS3 because it's a lot better than people would care to realize.

Alright, I didn't want to do the list thing because it seems obnoxious, but seeing as how we're having a decent conversation about it I'll go for it:

List of PS3 games that have story:

Heavy Rain - A thriller in the same light as Alan Wake. It follows several characters and their interconnecting story arcs as they search for a the "Origami Killer", a serial murderer who places origami figures on his victims. You play as each character and it's full of twists.

Mass Effect 2/3 - Yes, they're on PS3 now. These don't need introduction, and the provided interactive Graphic Novel for those that missed out on the first game is exceptionally well done.

Uncharted 1/2/3 - Probably the flagship title for the console this generation. You play as fortune hunter Nathan Drake, who will remind you a lot of Indiana Jones. Treasure hunting has kind of been uninteresting to this point (think Tomb Raider), but the quality of characters in these games is practically unrivalled and the games are really THAT good once you play them.

Fallout 3/New Vegas - These are multiplatform, you know about them.

Elder Scrolls (Oblivion/Skyrim) - Probably know about these as well.

Infamous 1/2 - You play as a courier who is mutated by a terrorist attack, giving you electrical super-powers. You're task is to save the city from the aftermath of the giant attack, all the while trying to hunt down another person who shares your same power... turns out he's yourself, from the future, with an agenda.

Agent - Alright, agent isn't out yet, but it's a PS3 exclusive developed by Rockstar... so yeah it'll be heavily story oriented.

Rockstar Games (Red Dead, GTA, LA Noire, Max Payne) All multiplatform, all story driven and great.

Bungie's Next Game - can't wait.

Portal 2 - multiplatform and definitely story driven as it is a Valve game.

Arkham Asylum/City - you know of these.

Metal Gear (up to 4) - I was always a splinter cell guy, but the critical acclaim for these is staggering.

The Last Guardian - from the team ICO guys, who have a ridiculously good reputation.

God of War - I only played the third game because it's the only one on the console, but the gameplay was absurdly good. Story I just don't know, so can't comment. I wasn't in love with it because I didn't know what was going on.

So, here's the thing. A lot of the games are the same, so this isn't meant to get anyone to buy a PS3. The games are there though, for sure. I can't list them all because I haven't played them all and/or don't know them all. There are more.

Heavy rain and uncharted are the only two exclusives you posted, no more?

And i meant story driven meaning has sequals.

If it has everything, does it matter that only a few are exclusive? You couldn't name that many Xbox "exclusive" titles either; I owned one for years and I couldn't. You even asked if it had any story games like Fallout, so I put them on the list because they're already available on PS3. You can't use a multiplatform game as an example expecting me to come up with only exclusives in response, I have to list them all.

I also listed Infamous, Agent, Metal Gear, God of War, Last Guardian. Why do story driven games need to have sequels to count? This makes no sense. Alan Wake was one of my favourite story games last year and it was a singular entry.

See, you used multiplatform games as your examples, which makes no sense at all. PS3 has all the same plus more, that's all I was trying to say. You asked for information, I gave it.

People treat consoles as a dick measuring contest for some reason. I say be happy with what you have, but be informed about the other side.

My god, I love those games. Heavy Rain is probably my favorite Story-based game ever (love me some mystery). Uncharted is pretty beast also. And Infamous 2 takes a page from Little Big Planet (Another great exclusive) and people can create sandbox based missions! Oh, and Portal 2 for PS3 is like 10x better than Xbox (cause Microsoft doesn't like Valve putting Steam stuff on Xbox).

Although, I prefer multi-plats on xbox usually...
