If you could, what would a covenant you would make look and act like?

I would make a covenant that's on all fours, is really hairy, has skin as strong as the Brutes, and is big enough for even a Hunter to ride on... well actually, i would make the Hunters ride them all of the time. The can run up to you and slice your head off with a couple swipes of it's huge claws... :)

The big difficulty is creating something that fits within the Covenant mindset.

I would go for something with deltagrade legs, a biped that can assume a quadraped stance when it needed to sprint. It would have a long horn that wrapped upwards and around, and wide set eyes. Small and thin it would rely only on twin pistols which it keeps tucked into holsters on it's chest while he sprints on four legs.

It would be scary in combat because of its speed, bounding about, using cover and trying to get behid the Chief to do real damage.

In the covenant hierarchy the Brutes are the holy warriors, these would be the Covenant's assassins. When a Hunter or Grunt got ideas for independence, these would be the aliens sent in to deal with the situation. Now they have their eyes on the Chief who has caused the Prophets so much trouble.

I would make a Covenant that could be a real assassin and not a coward like a Jackal. He'd be an amphibian - skin like a salamander's that changes according to the environment like a chameleon's, and would be able to sense you from much farther off than any of the other Covie species. It would have a long tail for climbing and would be able to stick to ceilings and walls with its hands. Of course, while it's climbing it wouldn't be able to kill you since its hands are busy. Its weapons could be double plasma daggers attached to its wrists, and about 1/3rd as long as the Elite's plasma sword. It would take around 4 direct hits to kill the Chief at full shields, but this assassin would hit fast. It'd be kind of small, tall as a Grunt while it's on 2 legs, but it would spend most of its time on all 4, waiting for you on the ceiling. Imagine walking into a dark room and fighting 6 of these guys with just your flashlight. Sounds fun to me.

A spider-themed centaur thing (four legs, four arms) that quad-wields covie weapons, and has thick bullet resistant flesh (and takes as much plasma as a red elite). Basically, a boss-type enemy, but without the thing with a health bar and a name popping up on the screen. They only show up at important parts of the map.

These guys would be the other race from the elite homeworld, who were discovered after the initial covenant was made, since they live underground. Like the elites, they have a strong warrior tradition, but favor deceit and survival as opposed to the elites' urge to fight and die.
