Subject: What was the point for the SoF to go to Arcadia?

I'm afraid your Eclipse, Novas, and Forerunners mean nothing. If you don't have the skill to back up the rank, I'm afraid you don't deserve it.
Rank means nothing. Enjoy you credit hording.

Cleared it up for the earlier post... Main reason why others believed the Reach Cannon was flawed.

You do know we are fighting the covenant Army Right? not the navy, hence the differant ranks.

And i believe it was the army, point being we are fighting a differant side of the covenant.

Bad plot writing. It was just an excuse to stick another environment in the game.

No, it wasnt.

There were spartans in arcadia, the same ones that took part in later levels in the game.

before SOF set down on arcadia they saw a video feed with spartans fighting on arcadia. You dont just leave spartans down in a overrun city like that...

Also beacuse of the civilians.

2) Why is it that spartans suddenly have the capacity to do gymnastics over elites,

Perhaps the Chi Ceti section of TFoR can answer that.

Posted by: tinyohyeah
fully knowing that elites are the far more agile of the two, and are also 1-2 feet taller than spartans.

That is called retcon, and was done in the Bestiarium and then again in the Encyclopaedia and then again in Halo Wars.

Arcadia gave us the worst levels in the game too. Those bloody Transports...

Transport three is scripted to die too!
All those people I got to it... just gone...

Ferk.

Never mind that...remember those damned Plasma Rhinos?

*get a Plasma Rhino*
*Use resources/military units to protect it*
*It arrives half-killed*
*Banshees, banshees everywhere*
*Locut, locust everywhere*
*A PLASMA RHINO HAS BEEN DESTROYED. A PLASMA RHINO HAS BEEN DESTROYED. A PLASMA RHINO HAS BEEN DESTRO-

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-

Walk softly, and carry a big midget.

They oviously saw the Covenant were up to something, so they followed them. Got there to find out the Covenant were attacking and went to help.

My guess is that the Covenant were going there to find a "Key" of some sorts to activate the Apex Site. That's why they were making the Super Scarab, so they could dig it up. Then when it got destroyed they realised that they could grab Anders instead.

That's my theory anyway.

Well, I doubt the Covenant set up that shield in dome of light for no reason. The forerunner structure in that mission was attached to the super scarab.

They only went there because the Forerunner artifact pointed to it. When they got there, the only thing they did was save the colony. That wasn't the point, the point was to find out more Forerunner things or figure out why the artifact on Harvest pointed there which they didn't.

They went to Arcadia because the artifact found in the ice pointed a straight line at the system. Also, bad story design....
