Racism isn't wrong if it's funny.

And fight off an entire armada? Why do you think?

Bungie.Match.com: Our Johnson knows what the ladies like.

Besides. He has destroyed an armada before.

Well he isn't invincible. (They didn't want to waist their time) Besides that was probably the best way to start Halo 3.

I think yes. He is the MC.

Exactly, he's Master Chief, not God.

he misses the mark by just a little, bu he is still the MC

I agree, he could have killed the Prophet of Truth much earlier than in the level "The Covenant" plenty of times, one of them being on this dreadnough, although there must have been a whole army on the dreadnought, he's strong, but not invincible. He probably just layed low, no one knew he was on it aside from UNSC when he made radio contact.

How many Covys were even on the dreadnought? I know there were millions on the supercarrier in reach, but the dreadnought is roughly 10x smaller, maybe 8x.

Probably tens of thousands. A few hundred would have been way too many. Like others have said he's not invincible. Trying to fight thousands of covenant in close combat would have been suicide.

Bungie Pentathlon - who actually cares ?

Shame there wasn't a way for him to decompress the entire ship....

This, there were just too many covenant on that ship for him to do anything; hell he got cornered and captured trying to kill truth.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

Hell, if i was the Brute Chieftain then and there, i would have pummeled the MC to death regardless of that stupid artifact made-up thingy they needed.

He destroyed an armada, but then he had Cortana, a couple marines he saved from Halo and a long sword (the ship). I don't think he could do it alone with no weapons. (we know he didn't have a weapon from the first cutscene in Halo 3 where Johnson took the marine's Assault Rifle and gave it to Chief).

Master Chief is not the best spartan. He's okay at everything, but great at nothing(besides luck and leadership) Master Chief can die just as easily as Kat or Emile did.

OP you need to understand the size of this ship and the amount of Covenant troops that were one it. For one Spartan without his very helpful AI it was too much.

He had ample opurtunity to kill Truth. Besides being a virtual God of war, he's also a master at stealth and evasion. Could've slipped past the bulk of the army and had only the guards to deal with. And Truth.

Fight off an entire Covenant Armada in addition to a Flood infestation? Chief may be tough, but not that tough. He can't do that alone.

  • 04.08.2011 2:17 PM PDT

I am a monument to all your sins

I don't think even he could take that entire dreadnought by himself, there are millions of covenant on that ship. Trying it would be a foolish risk when his primary objective is to just get to earth

Spartan II > Spartan III's

That doesn't mean anything. S-IIs had a habit of dying just as easily as the S-IIIs.

Never say you're bored. Never say you're satisfied with the world. Never stop doubting or questioning things. Always wonder. Always think. But always take time to drop your guard, you don't have to be smart all the time.

And being slaughtered by the armada?

Chief is a sparten not the invincible one, he's no better than any other.

That and Halsey herself said Chief wasnt' the fastest, strongest, or smartest Spartan. He might be well rounded, but besides leadership and luck he wasn't truly a master of any specific thing such as Linda or Kelly or that demo specialist Spartan.

Now, average to a Spartan may be near mastery for a normal person, but it doesn't change the simple fact. Chief, no shields, headshot with a needle rifle? He's dead. Being a Spartan II doesn't make his skull tougher. Being Master Chief doesn't make him tougher to kill. It simply meant he was the leader of the Spartan II's.

Xbox has been around since I've been around.

His first priority was to survive not to get killed.
