When you start Halo, a dialog box should open up that lets you choose some graphics settings and other settings. There's also a checkbox that says "don't show me this box again", and if you checked it, you might not see it till you figure out how to get it back. You can choose pixel shaders, vertex shaders, etc in this box.
I checked the iBook on Apple's website. It seems like it would be ok for Halo, but I'm not an expert on video boards. There are some threads in this forum about video boards for the PC. You might get an idea of what settings you can use with the card you have.
