SPARTAN-III
Petty Officer Zach-A069
Like the SPARTAN-IIIs that eventually went on to compose Noble Team, Zach-A069 was determined to have the qualities that matched the criteria used to recruit SPARTAN-IIs. He was pulled from Alpha Company before the ill-fated Operation: PROMETHEUS decimated his company and comrades. Before the Fall of Reach, he was outfitted with MJOLNIR Mark V armor, as was Noble Team. Eventually he became a candidate for testing prototype Mark VI armor.
During the Fall of Reach, Zach-A069 was continuously rotated between SPARTAN deployments, functioning within Gauntlet and Echo teams with two, distinct roles. Like all SPARTANs, he is proficient in all weaponry, UNSC and Covenant alike, but he does have his favorites. Boots in the mud, he is a surgeon with the SRS99 AM rifle, serving as team marksman. His true love in combat, however, is being behind the wheel of a UH-144 Falcon. Both Gauntlet and Echo Teams performed as civilian evac but also saw a lot of contact with the Covenant invaders.
Like Noble Team, he is UNSC Navy but under Army jurisdiction. Because of the Army's more lenient uniform regulations, he is able to customize his MJOLNIR armor to suit his needs. When functioning as the team sniper, he will use a Scout variant helmet, Tactical/Patrol cuirass, and a supplementary shoulder-bandoleer of SRS99 AM ammunition. Conversely, when fielded as a Falcon pilot, he wears the corresponding armor configuration. Despite the UNSC Army's leniency, he oftentimes dons either his Mark V or Mark VI armor in standard-issue sage out of respect for his SPARTAN-II comrades that came before him, the UNSC, and his curious and brave species.
In combat, he shares a distinct characteristic with his comrade Jun-A266 in that he is quite chatty over team COMMs. Again, like Jun-A266, this is often forgiven due to the informational nature of his transmissions. Charming and optimistic, he tries to keep morale high, one of the reasons why he was selected for the civilian evac teams.
When Reach was lost, Zach-A069 (to his disdain), was pulled out of civilian evac and escaped the planet aboard the UNSC [REDACTED] and is currently serving with [REDACTED] on [REDACTED].
