Subject: Spartan III's

Spartans never die... they just revert to last checkpoint.

I am wondering if there are Spartans who are unaccounted for.

I know there were 26(?) Spartan II's that survived through augmentation.

I know there were at least 3 companies of Spartan III's, each with atleast 300 members. Most are dead.

How were the Spartans of Noble and the Headunters skimmed off the top? Is it possible there are other Spartans messin -blam!- up out there? Not the II's, but is the number of Spartans set in stone?

Ugh, why did they make winning so painful?!

Many tried, but just can’t beat me
They all say it’s hard but to me it’s rather easy
To do what I do, better then the rest
It takes four words, I Am THE BEST!

Maybe there's Spartan IIIIII's? That's what you get when you combine Johnson, Master Chief and Noble Six...

The survivng Spartans include the Chief, Blue Team made up of Fred, Kelly, Linda, Lucy, Tom, Ash, Mark, Olivia and around 300 Gamma Company Spartan IIIs. There is also the possibilty that Black Team and Greay Team are still alive, however their whereabouts are unknown.

Here's a a previous post of mine explaining how Noble and the Headhunters survived and don't break canon:

The argument that both Alpha and Beta Company were completely wiped out on their respective missions is flat out wrong. It is true to an extent i.e. all of the Spartan IIIs that were sent on their company's respective suicide OPs died (excluding Tom and Lucy). However, there are explanations for each of the members of Noble still being alive after their company's destruction:

Kat (Beta Company)

According to Kurt's Transmission, Kat was not deployed on TORPEDO, due to her being injured during the previous operation, CARTWHEEL. Kurt used her medical recovery time to keep her out of her company' destruction.

Noble 6 (Beta Compnay)

"Nine hadn't made it." Ghosts of Onyx, page 14.

Based off this we know that nine Spartans were not present during TORPEDO that Tom was led to believe were deployed. However, his/her Performance Report explains how he/she was affiliated with ONI as an assassin. ONI have a habit of "commandeering" Spartans. It is likely that Noble 6 is one of the nine who "died" on entry.

Carter, Emile, Jun (Alpha Company)

It is now obvious that Kurt withheld numerous Spartan IIIs from their company's final missions. Evidence of this is his transmission regarding Beta Company, but more importantly the existence of the Headhunters. Even if all other eight Beta company "deaths", not including N6, were put into the Headhunter program, this is not enough to make up the numbers. At the program's height there were 6 two-man teams, 12 Spartans, with 17 others rotating into positions when one or more of a team was killed. That is 29 Spartan IIIs needed, and clearly they can't all be Beta Spartans because the numbers don't add up. It is also obvious that Gamma Company cannot be included based on deployment time and age. This means that the others would have to be from from Alpha, and there we have clear evidence that Spartans were witheld from PROMETHEUS, which leaves room to say that Carter, Emile and Jun were also saved.

Ghost of Onyx is 100% canon, but the perspective from which the book is written leaves room to allow for the survival of more Spartan IIIs than the novel actually implies. Basically, GoO is right to say that all the Spartan IIIs of Alpha and Beta died But obviously, in actual fact, that is not the case, as I have explained above. Reach, and by extension Evolutions, does not break canon by including the survival of Sparta IIIs from Alpha and Beta Companies.

Also... Halsey was trapped in Onyx, yes?

She was also narrating the final cutscene in Reach, yes?

That means she escaped, yes?

Also... DaMasta Chief was floating towards a planet that kinda looked like Onyx, yes?

IDK I'm jumpin to conclusions. Stoopid conclusions.

It is possible Hasley escaped but we shouldn't jump to that conclusion just because she's narrating at the end since that doesn't really indicate anything.

The planet at the end can't really be Onyx since the sentinels that form the planet decided to wake up and get destroyed by various people such as the covenant ships and others. Plus I believe they destroyed the factories that made them on the planet. I haven't read the book in a while so I could be mistaken about this stuff.

As far as the world knows there are alot of secret spartan projects that not even Dr.Halsey knows about.

ORION Project
Also known as the SPARTAN-I program. Origonaly Initiated in 2321 and Re-initiated in 2491 and cancelled in 2506.

SPARTAN-1.1
Whenever a SPARTAN-1 Had a child they were how a stupid cop said. "Stuck you with a needle and shot you full of miracles."

SPARTAN-II Program
We all know this one. SPARTAN-II Program was initiated by the brilliant Dr. Cathrine Halsey. 75 candidates out of 150 were kidnapped at the age of 6 by ONI and trained for 8 years until ready for their augumentations. only 33 would survive the augumentations and others crippled would either be put behind a desk, or put into cryo sleep to see if the candidates could become spartans yet. others did not survive.

SPARTAN Black team
After the Augumentations some spartans were put into cryo sleep to see if they could be helped. Black team was fully recovered after their augumentation failers and luckely became spartans, How over they were no longer under the athority of Dr Halsey. ONI had kept these four spartans to them selves with more advanced armour compared to the MJOLNIR Mk IV.

SPARTAN-III Program

A project that has nothing to do with halsey, but everything with a rival Colonel James Ackerson. Ackerson Always had the intention of shutting down the SPARTAN-II program. Failing many times to do this he decided to create his own, The SPARTAN-II Program, Initiated in 2531. Ackerson could not do this alone, he would need a candidate from the previouse program this candidate was SPARTAN-051 Kurt. Kurt was asked to train the SPARTAN-III's to be the very best they can be but he could not do this alone, Senior Chief Petty Officer Franklin Mendez would help kurt train these spartans, without them knowing that Ackerson planned to make them expendable. Augumentations were also issued with these spartans only every spartan would make it with no injuries. After training and augumentations the spartans would be issued with SPI armor, This armour was made with a different material with no energy shields, they had an active cameo weaker to the Elites cameo

Noble team

The SPARTAN-III team that was issued with the MJOLNIR MK V armour was noble team, this made them the most SPARTAN-II looking. SPARTAN-052 Jorge joined up with noble team, making him the second SPARTAN-II Involved in the SPARTAN-III Program without Dr Halsey knowing until the Year 2552.

Headhunters

A two man team of SPARTAN-III's were given the most dangerouse of missions, to get behind enemy lines with an upgraded varient of SPI Armor. The armor had energy shields with a limited time for active cameo.

there are alot of projects for the spartans with many more to see in the future.

Noble Six was pulled from beta company almost directly after training, it says so in the letter.

As for surviving Spartans?

Red Team, Grey team, and Black team of Spartan IIs.

Blue team a mix of IIs and IIIs on onyx.

and the bulk of Gamma company, and possibly other Spartan III squads like Noble or groups of headhunters.

Onyx was destroyed before the Chief destroyed the Ark. The planet is not Onyx.

By the way Onyx was not destroyed. It is a planet made up of sentinels. That would explain the machine/metalic look of the planet at the end of Halo 3.

Spartans never die... they just revert to last checkpoint.

Actually the sentinels melted a UNSC fleet and a Covenant Fleet. A prowler watched the whole thing.

You might want to read that bit again. The planet basically disintegrated leaving a tiny ball (the Dyson Sphere) and millions of sentinels. It wasn't even vaguely planet-like at the time of Halo 3. Onyx was destroyed.

Read page 377 & 378. The mantle of the surface tears off to reveal and planet/sphere made up of sentinels. They physically form the planet. I quote, "The drones were the planet Onyx".

"Find where the liar hides, so that I may place my boot between his gums!" - Rtas 'Vadum

Encyclopaedia, Page 233
Following the sentinals' conflict with a team of Spartan soldiers, a pair of nuclear warheads detonetd by Kurt-051 destroyed much of the planet...

Given the destruction of Onyx, it is likely that there are no Onyx sentinels still in existence.
The FENRIS may have caused a chain reaction among those closely packed sentinels that made up the planet. The powerful blast would have destroyed the ones in orbit. Onyx is gone, and it looks like not even the sentinels themselves survived.

You conveniently left out the word "scaffolding". They were buried deep below the surface and were merely a frame work around which the planet was built. They didn't make up a solid sphere.

Could happen, they are sentinals designed by the forerunners. They could all line up into those symbols.
