Subject: The attack on Reach begins on August 28th?

I know that this is just another 'How to fix Reach' thread, but realy, it would only require Bungie to change the date and time that is shown at the begining of each mission.

Instead of Noble Actual starting on July 24th 07:28, I propose it start on August 28th at the same time. The rest are as follows...

August 28
07:28 - Noble Actual
08:14 - Winter Cntingency (no actual time given in game)
14:26 - ONI: Sword Base (changed from 11:26, for more realism)
26:30 - Nightfall

August 29
08:00 - Tip of the Spear
12:07 - Long Night of Solace (changed from 20:07)
17:34 - Exodus (changed from 15:34)
21:57 - New Alxandria (changed from 18:57)

August 30
09:16 - The Package (changed from 26:16)
12:52 - The Pillar of Autumn (changed from 16:52)
20:00 - Lone Wolf

I think that this fits the pre established canon.
I know that it doesn't all take place on August 30th, but at least it doesn't leave you thinking;
"So they just sat on their butts for a couple of days before going to the next mission?"

Noble team was forced into fallout shelters at the end of New Alexandria to escape radiation from the Covenant glassing the city, a process that would have taken a while, and it would have been longer still until it was safe to come out.

It also never states how far each location is from eachother, they may very well have to cross half the planet in order to get to their missions.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

I proposed this a long time ago, and I still agree with it.

As far as i was aware, all of the missions take place on the continent of Visigrad.

Posted by: Astrogenesis 1Visigrad was the name of a town. Most of the fighting takes place in the Viery Territory on the continent Eposz. The final mission, Sword Base and The Package are the only ones I'm aware of that takes place on Azod, another continent.

My mistake :/
Either way, i still think there is plenty of time to complete the missions and get to the next one as outlined above.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

No, the attack starts on July 24th and the invasion starts around August 30th.

We know, he's just suggesting an alternate timeline that fits better with the established fiction.

Any who, I found a map of Reach, which I've linked. It doesn't show the location of every mission, but Visegrad relay and sword base are. a little quick measurement shows that they are roughly 3,000km apart.

And you know, time to get to base and resupply and get new orders. Also time to rest and eat so they are in the best condition.

azsod was actually part of the viery supercontinent.

I supose that realy depends on how quick Noble Team is at completing the missions. I mean, it doesn't take that long to get through a mission on legendary.

There is no set time in the canon that states how quickly they finished each mission. Untill Bungie says somthing, I don't see anything wrong with my time line.

I was referring to the way it is ingame. People seem to think Noble Team sat on their asses doing nothing between missions.

Though, I'll agree the time between WC and sword base could be shortened, or have mini-mission/cutscene between the two.(Same for package and PoA, though that is simply to example Carter's injury.)

26:30 - Nightfall

Did you mean it happens on the 29th at 02:30?

Apart from that it's much better than the original timeline. It also makes the covenant seem more overwhelming if they can take down Reach that quickly.

I was confused about it for a little while too. The first time I saw it I was like "Wait, wat." Then a few days later I ventured onto the Halo Reach project page to discover Reach in fact has a 27 hour day.

It seems that most of the first portion was just scouting. Trying to make sure if whether or not it is the Human Homeworld, how fortified it actually is, etc. They were also trying to find and take the locations of relics.

By the time that New Alexandria had fallen, the Covenant basically scattered the UNSC ground forces throughout the planet. The rest of the groundside campaign was used to pick off the remainder. You know, take out the remaining bases, destroy the few safe havens left, etc. The planet was essentially theirs, but they were making sure that there were no humans left.
