So lets talk Spartan III :)

Indeed, the Spartan IIIs can all wear MJOLNIR.

And Pre-Covenant war puts us at 930 Spartan IIIs!

That's wrong. Like, completely. Spartan III's didn't even exist until the Human-Covenant war began. And if I remember, there were roughly 300 of them.

300 in Alpha
300 in Beta
330 in Gamma

Read Ghosts of Onyx :)

...Also, you are right, the SIIIs only went in to production because we were at war, but if i am not mistaken, we are now at war with you.

Old GTs; RebelRobot, Flamedude

Hmmm.... Fallout technology is beautifully misbalanced and crazy. Fat Man for instance. Let alone the bigger weaponry like Liberty Prime and Archimedes II.

Liberty Prime threw nuclear shells like footballs for goodness sakes.

The spartan III Headhunter Teams, which were equiped with energy shielding, motion trackers, VISR tech and active camouflage, would be deployed behind enemy lines to destroy and cause as much damage as possible.

America has all of that, save the Energy Shielding. They're not all equipped on the same troops, though. Not to mention, stealth detection technology is very advanced for American troops. They could easily detect the Spartan III's. And even still, that's one team. Of only 5 people, I think.

I did read Ghosts of Onyx. There were not 930 Spartan III's. Ever.

And fine, if we're going to play like that, here. Each Side gets one million troops. UNSC gets all Spartan II's and III's. That makes up about 1%, if not less. Like I said, about 25% of all soldiers were t-51b units by the end of the war, meaning we get 250,000 power armor troops. They basically compare to Covenant Elites, in that sense, but with better weapons.

six teams of 2, with 5 on the side, that makes 17 :)

That smile is irritating.

The main win factor for the UNSC is the fact the vehicls are vastly superior. A fleet of vultures or hawks would obliterate any American defenses.

@Scoopius

How are American plasma weapons better then the Covenant's? Have you read the books? (I've only played Fallout 3, so I could be wrong.)

Wow there actually were 930 of them, but that is the amount aproved to be Spartans. We don't know if all of them survived there less-severe augumentations

Huh.

Well, I was wrong there. Bummer.

Ok, im going to say i'm getting pretty bored with finding stuff to come back at you with...

I'm out.

Well in the sense of vehicles, they aren't all inferior. A lot of them were equipped with energy weapons that compare if not supercede Covenant energy weapons. Not to mention, there are the mobile platforms, which are basically huge airbases that move.

And as for the energy weapons, according to canon, a plasma weapon can burn through vehicles and destroy them in seconds. They don't fire as fast, but they pack a hell of a punch.

Beta, 418 conscripted, 300 became spartans.
Gamma, 330 conscripted, 330 became spartans.

Vultures, Hawks, Cobras, Gremlins, Grizzlies, Wolverines, Rhinos are all rare and used barely. So no fleets of Vultures. Also, I don't think the UNSC could fire there MAC platform guns straight down, with the exception in Halo: Reach in the second mission's last cutscene. It was either a Frigate/Cruiser or a small platform.

That's actually true. Though, I do think the platforms can fire down. They can be aimed basically anywhere.

What a waste....

SPARTAN IIs and IIIs. ODSTs. SMACs. SHIVAs. HORNETs. Or, if all else fails, NOVA.

That destroys planets. That'd kill all of your troops. Also, Orbital Platforms, T-51b Power Armor, energy weapons, and mobile airbases.

That's why I said, if ALL ELSE FAILS. That means 99% of your troops are already dead.

MJOLNIR and SPI armor both have resistance to energy weapons.

Since nobody will convince the other side they win, lets call it a tie.

Not true. SPI armor doesn't even have shields unless a Headhunter. In the books, one of the Spartan II's was killed by a few plasma pistol blasts. They're just as suseptible to energy fire as T-51b's. Maybe a little stronger.

In the books, a quick spray of plasma kills. Hell, in the Fall of Reach, one of the Spartans was killed by a plasma pistol burst. You apply realism here.

Wrong actually. He was killed because the armor and gel layer were breached, and he could not leave the ship due to the fact he'd die out of atmosphere.

The plasma pistol overcharge simply breached it, it didn't make him unable to fight.

Hell, a hunter completely burnt/took off a Spartan II's arm and he kept moving.

There were 0 Spartans lost during the S3 augmentations, which yielded basically the exact same result as S2 augmentations.
