"A LIE is a LIE"

- Truly intelligent and deep Black ops trailer

I'm still shocked that there is no clear example of a APC/IFV like the real world M2 bradley or the bmp-3 with an auto cannon and a protected area for the personnel.

Even halo wars didn't have one. One should be included in the next Halo game, even if only for single player...

Look up the Cougar. It would have been an excellent example.

Just did. Cool looking vehicle.

Now i'm pissed they didn't include it in Halo wars!

indeed, lovely looking vehicle. someone should make a thread to 'fill in the gaps' in the armoury, especially on the ground and in the air, was just saying to my mate before how annoying it was that non of the Halo: Wars vehicles seen the light of day in the normal Halo games, the Vulture for example would have been something to see! also the Cobra, might have been interesting vehicle to add to campaign at some point, someone drives and someone guns and it can be deployed. such a shame...

I love the vehicle, but I hate the transformation ability. It goes against realism a little too much for my tastes.

As such, to me, the only artillery is the Rhino and the Fox Cannon (Another cut unit).

You know those Intercontinental Missiles that you are able to see on Tip of the Spear? I like to imagine that they were from a Fox Cannon. Its missiles are targeted by GPS.

dunno I liked the deployment, reminded me of the Arclite tank from Starcraft, which was awesome! could just imagine a bunch of Cobras deployed on high ground, covering the battlespace, providing devastating fire support for ground forces.

'Trooper: Enemy Phantom sighted, lasing target.....'
'Cobra: Confirm laser tracking, firing main gun.....'
'Trooper: Roger, Cobra two-seven target well hit..'

could be awesome! always wanted Halo to be a more complicated game, adding things like lasing for air support and such would add great tactical depth, though I sure most Halo players would disagree...!

Why couldn't the cobra fire upon it as it was?

The whole thing about the deployment was to ive the UNSC Artillery. How can a Railgun arc?

More impotantly, how can the two guns merge together? How can the back two tires lay down like that without snapping their spokes?

I mean, I can deal with it if the only thing that changed was to have something hold it in place, like what the Rhino has.

would hazard that the Cobra would have really really long range if not restricted by the mechanics of Halo: Wars, which was really for balance purposes. don't like some of the transformation, but don't mind the outriggers and such to compensate for the increased recoil of the main gun. no idea how they would merge into one weapon, though if the Cobra could see the target then sure, could shoot it down but perhaps it was engaging something else and the fire support would be considered more important, so focused attention on whatever the troops on the ground needed. never liked the look of the artillery piece to be honest, if it looked better then maybe, also artillery has its place in any theatre of war, though would prefer to use missile artillery to conventional gun artillery, for the sake of accuracy more than anything.

It wasn't so much transforming as it did anchor to the ground so the recoild didn't blow it back. Makes sense when you think about it.

Its guns merged into one firing a single projectile that somehow arcs steeply, even though it is a Railgun.

I'm pretty sure that's what the pelican is for. Yes, it's a flying vehicle, but it's an armored troop carrier with some light and medium weapons of its own.

Pelicans cannot go to places where APC's can go, and vice-versa.

It is like comparing Blackhawks to one of the above APC examples. They share a similar role, but not entirely the same.

Where are these missiles exactly?

Ever play Red Alert 3? Do you know about the Sudden Transport rush/potential turtle breaker? Yeah.

The part where the go up into the Spire. If you look torwards the horizon, you would see missiles arcing torwards the battle in the valley. You can also see them in the same spot in the MP map Spire, as well as Highlands.

There is an APC in the UNSC arsenal, we just never see it in action. Look at the Vehicle in the left of this piece of concept art. There is also one seen in the Patrol video, part of the "Remember Reach" campaign.

i honestly wish instead of the frigate going in to take out the spire that artilery fire had been called in but i know they needed a way to "introduce" the super carrier i would seriously like to see some more vehicles infact an artilery vehicle would work great for a machinima im planing to make

Too slow, Too big, too heavy, and too expensive to be a regular APC.

The elephant is like a mini HQ of some sort

Nah, the fact that it's air based shows it does not fit the role.

I'm talking about the ground based APC which can also hold its own against vehicles and infantry.

Pelicans just aren't fit for MP...
