Ok, a post to all "non-believers" a Halo Movie wouldn't be good. These are all "if" questions, but humor me. What if Bungie and Microsoft had the majority (or total) of control in the movies? What if the script was ONLY modified (if even needed; probably not) by Eric Nylund himself? What if this movie comes out exactly the way we want it? (LoL, we can only hope so.) What if all of these "what if" (or even a select few) statements occur? Either one of these could make the movie great. Could any of these change your mind? And don't forget another comment that is only a speculation: What if the Halo movie flopped? It may happen, it may not. I'm not making promises. And this is what brings me to my next point.
I believe it was SpartanFox that brought this up: "How will the public feel to constant action in a Halo Movie?" Well, this could work against the idea of a Halo Movie; or work for it. We, as Halo fans, know the action intrigues us. But with a general public, this could also be an advantage. Action intrigues the public too (i.e. Saving Private Ryan, Aliens, Star Wars, and SO many others). Plus, with Eric Nylund's excellent dialogue in each book, the public would have nothing more to ask for. A book is technically a script. It's how the director puts it on the screen that "makes or breaks" a movie. That's why a competant director is an utmost importance.
Plus SpartanFox, if (and God forgive) the Halo Movie is a flop, I don't understand how it could affect our view of Halo. We have excellent books, inspirational game(s), and a Community so full of die-hards, it'll be hard for a mere movie to unsteady our hold for Halo (unless it turns out good, then we rejoice!).
Yet Halo fans will be put to the test that day a movie does hit the theatres. [If it flops] they will have to decide whether a movie can make them despise the game they love or will they disregard it as a "mistake - and should never be attempted again" then just resume play. Halo fans will have to decide this on thier own, and it will be tough for some. But with the way the Halo Community looks, most of us will just blame the flop on some technicality (i.e. - bad acting, horrible directing, ect) then move on with our lives; but still play Halo. hehe.
