Quick question about xfire. What is the correct way to set up voice chat? I recently installed it, along with a friend that I usually play online with. We started a voice chat, but once in the game, the lag was horrible, and my ping was around 2300!!! Once the voice chat was stopped, things returned to normal, with a ping less than 100. I was under the impression that using xfire was the best way to voice chat, yet it doesn't appear to be to me.
Is there something I'm missing or a certain way to do it?
Thanks!

Hm. Seems like VoiceChat is being a bandwidth hog. How many people do you have on Xfire Voice at any one given time?

I would try going to the Tools Menu to Options to the Voice tab, then adjusting the bandwidth level at the bottom accordingly. That should help free up some bandwidth. Also, when in voice chat, if you're hosting, I would set the number of people allowed to the minimum number of people you expect on voice at any given time...there's no point in setting the connection to allow 10 people when only 3 are gonna be using it at any one time.

Oh, and a note to all others, I won't post your xfire name unless you resubmit in the proper format.

There are only two of us in chat. I will check through some settings and see what I find.
When setting the bandwidth setting, should you set it at what you have, or set it lower so it doesn't use as much? For example, I have a cable connection, do I set it at the high end for cable, or set it at the low end, so it thinks its a slower connection? (does that make sense?!?!?) It sounds like a soup can at the low end, but maybe thats ok!

Setting it at what you have is good, that should work.

But I woud suggest you set it lower than what you actually have. That way Xfire is set not to take up THAT much bandwidth.

Sorry, dude, it's policy. I've gotta get a PM from you in the official format as mentioned in the guide.

Zip me a PM with your name/B.net login as requested and I'll stick you on ASAP.
