It is a good replacement for the smg but they should have left in smgs and dual wielding. It's just I played so much halo 2 that I didn't like all the change even though I do enjoy reach and halo 3.

Weapon effectiveness in battle and weapon enjoyment to use aren't necessarily the same thing. The magnum in Half-Life 2 is vastly more powerful in every way than the crowbar, but everyone loves the crowbar anyway.

And keep in mind that he's referring to the HCE AR which, while perhaps a tad underpowered, is still situationally useful, especially if you train yourself to use it well.

But yeah, the AR in H3 and Reach was very poorly implimented, designed to be used as a one-dimensional melee-blitz weapon.

halo 2 still the best game in the series. long live halo 2.

Dam, I miss the old days playing halo 2 with my old brothers in arms. Thank you my old friends for giving me this account, I shall continue our legacy.

It was a game that brought everyone together back on the old xbox. Brought out our competitive side and we had fun playing it. Always something new to do and the glitches took the game to the next level. I miss those old clan matches we used to have on Halo 2, wish they kept the clan feature on their current games.

R.I.P. Halo 2 11/9/04-4/15/10
If you havn't played Halo 2 online than you are missing so much. Plus if you have played a good amount of Halo 2 online, I might have a better chance of listening to anything you say.

lol, the Assault Rifle in Halo 3 is worse than the SMGs. And I thought you fans of the later Halo games are always "hehe change is good ;)". Yeah right. For some reason, this reminds me of Obama...

50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

It was great for these.

It was great because it was balanced, the strong weapons were harder to use, the maps were designed amazingly, wining required more skill than luck, the skill gap was big, it didn't have any retarded moments like halo 3, it was satisfying to play, it wasn't irritating, the leveling system was great, the melee system was great, being good at it took lots of effort and it was rewarding, it was great for competitive playing aswell as messing around, the vehicles were balanced and fun to use, there was no extremely Op weapons that made the game boring, there was no stupid perks or equipment that lets the less skilled player have an advantage, the shield and health system worked perfectly, everyone talked in MM instead of using private chat, the grenades were just the right strength, it had great music all the way through the campaign, it had amazing easter eggs like the scarab guns, it had a good spawning system, it had a good power weapon spawning system. theres loads more but i cant be bothered to write them now.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

Just because MLG uses it doesn't mean another weapon is any less valuable. No, further, just because MLG uses a single weapon doesn't mean the others aren't fun to use (which is what those weapons were designed for). That's what games are supposed to be- fun. People have seemed to lose sight of that.

Personally, I've always had a problem with the "I can beat you any day of the week as long as it's on X map with Y settings and Z weapons" mentality. I don't understand why, as gamers, we should be glamorizing the limiting and condensing of a game's settings. If you can't compete with default settings, you probably shouldn't exactly be in a pro circuit. Part of the original magic of Halo multiplayer was having to compete for your preferred weapons. If you weren't good enough to win the battle for them, you wouldn't get the weapon you wanted. With that competition for weapons eliminated, it really throws off how the game plays when everyone starts off with a medium range weapon that discourages movement around the map in search of better weapons. Therefore, it's not the true gameplay and you're not really showing your skill on the whole; you're just showing how good you are at taking potshots with a single weapon.

That's just how I see it.

Black Ops 2 I run two accounts warmup only at 1.97kdr...real is at 3.77. i'm in master division 4 league play. pm 4 clan inv...must have 2.5 kdr or better

The AR was better in C.E. It used to have a 64 bullet clip. Good times. Halo 2 was kind of boring compared to the rest.

If you didn't Play Halo: CE or Halo 2 MP, your opinion about Halo means nada.

CE + H2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> H3+Reach+H4

what kind of -blam!- options are these.
