Our big green style, cannot be defeated!
-Sgt. A.J. Johnson - Halo 2 - Metropolis

So after the Pillar of Autumn leaves Reach. Their Pelicans with machine guns on the front, don't have machine guns on the front. All the DMR's are gone, & they have new shotguns, assault rifles, & all their rocket & gauss hogs disappeared. The falcons are gone too! Then, the banshees look different once they drop on Halo, the revenants aren't there. I just think it's funny how both armies lost their new (old) weapons & vehicles. I wonder what happened to them during the events of Alpha Halo.

The Brutes ate them all, obviously.

To sum it up, most of the tech the Pillar had were the standard issue stuff wheras the Reach equipement was mostly prototypes and untested tech. As for the covie tech, Reach was a full blown invasion so they had the best they could. But the forces at Halo were just their to retrieve any Forunner tech. So they just had what they needed to defend themselves if anything went wrong, like the banshees that were designed for only in atmosphere use.

Hope that helps.

Incorrect. The Fleet of Ascendent Justice participated in the attack on Reach. It followed the Pillar of Autumn to Halo, but overtook her due to obvious advantages.

You see the UNSC had to drop the weight to save on fuel to excape, that or they were in a hurry to GTF away from reach, and forgot it all.

the way i understood it was that the pillar of autumn had to GTFO Reach, so they didn't have time to stock up. in reality their biggest concern was getting Cortana and Chief away from the covenant.

the events on installation 04 took place over a number of days, not long at all. and the force that chased the POA probably wasn't a full on force, probably barely a fleet.

Sorry but this is almost all wrong. Most of the specialist equipment (lasers and the like) were on the top two decks which were destroyed by the Covenant. As for the differences in equipment (different rifles and vehicles) remember that the PoA was Navy with Marines on board while the forces defending Reach were Army.

The Fleet of Particular Justice was an Elite fleet, so there were no Brutes along with several other missing species. The differences in Equipment are due to the A) amounts used up on Reach and B) the payloads of the ships that went to Alpha Halo. More subtle differences can be written off to different models or just art.

As for the PoA leaving Reach in a hurry is False. The Pillar of Autumn was equipped for a mission to capture a Prophet and negotiate a truce. It came back to help defend Reach.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

Discrepancy caused by retcon, there you go.

Aw, but simply damning an uncaring developer for destroying canon isn't fun.

Covies beamed them up with their grav lifts and used them for target practice.

makes me think, why are their not standard Assault Rifles, Shotguns, and maybe some battle rifles, and Covenant Carbines to go along with the kinds used in Reach?

Its hard to use canon to explain this since its just game design but I'll give it a try.

Not all pelicans were equiped with weapons, kind of like how not all of todays Blackhawks and Chinooks are armed. We only see the unarmed versions but that doesn't mean the gunships weren't there.

As for weapons, the Pillar of Autumn had been preparing for a mission to capture a covenant ship so the ship could've been loaded with weapons that would've helped with that. Thats why we got the god pistol and that 60 round magazine bullet hose AR. Something that would've been perfect for fighting in tight corridors. You also have to take into account that after the PoA crash landed the marines wouldn't have been able to salvage everything so its possible guass and rocket hogs and hornets were damaged in the crash or they couldn't be recovered.
